I awoke with a slight headache and Zayn's tattooed arm slung over my waist. We were still on the floor, the soft carpet underneath us had made this whole sleeping process a bit more comfortable. I propped myself up on my elbow, thinking of what to make for breakfast when I was suddenly pulled into Zayn's chest.

"let's sleep for a few more minutes" his voice was deeper than normal, making my heart flutter.

"But I'm hungry" I said, trying to wiggle out of his hold

"Alright love, I'll make you the best breakfast you've ever had in your life" he smiled widely while standing up and heading for the kitchen.

I laughed as he began to open and close different cabinets, and groaning when he could not find what he was looking for.

"Okay, where do you keep your pans?" he said defeated, causing my smile to become wider at how cute he was.

---------------------

Breakfast consisted of omelets and pancakes drowned in syrup, along with cut fruit and milkshakes. Although the fluffy delicacy of the pancakes were sweet to my pallet, I ultimately thought Zayn's kisses were sweeter.

After breakfast was over, Zayn insisted on washing the dirty dishes but much to my disagreement, he still did them anyways. I watched from the dining table as he scrubbed the pots we used and smiled to myself as he began to sing softly to himself. Although it was almost indistinguishable to hear what he was singing about, my heart leaped at how delicate his voice sounded and I found myself falling for him more and more by the simple things he did. He turned around, drying the his hands on a towel next to the kitchen sink and raised his eyebrows, clearly amused that I had been watching him this whole time.

He walked over to me and held my face in both of his hands, his eyes examining my features. He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on my forehead. Just a simple act like that had me feeling euphoric.

He pulled back, his eyes staring lovingly into my own.

"Beautiful" he whispered

I stood up, not liking the lack of space between us, and hugged him. I placed my head next to his chest and listened to the rhythmic pattern of his heart. His hands ran through my hair occasionally twirling a few strands with his fingertips. I nuzzled closer and engulfed his musky scent. I had never felt this intense feeling of affection toward anyone before and it made me feel as though everything was right in the world.

I pulled back abruptly upon remembering a certain someone and how things still had to be fixed with them.

"Zayn, I still have to talk to Liam! I completely forgot about him"

He raised his eyebrows in thought, also remembering about our friend.

I recalled our last encounter and how things did not turn out well, but I still considered him my friend, and I hoped he still though the same about me.

"I have to talk to him too. Do you think he'll still consider letting me work at his restaurant? you know, after all of this that happened" Zayn asked

"I'm sure he will, Liam is a really nice guy he was probably angry that we fought in his restaurant and probably scared away customers"

He nodded. His smile suddenly faltered as he stroked my face with his fingertips, touching lightly over the places that were once covered with bruises.

"I'm sorry. I will never stop apologizing... for what I did" his voice cracked, his eyes glazing with tears.

"It wasn't your fault. You didn't do it intentionally." I cupped his face in my hands and gently wiped away a stray tear with my thumb.
