It was exactly two months since the internship started, Jeremy and Tanya moved to the Credit control section.
Every body simply nodded and turned back to their work in acknowledgment of their presence, but one lady stood out immediately."Keisha hie!" Tanya smiled and waved at the lady who was beckoning at them in her little cubicle of an office.
"You know her?" Jeremy asked frowning, Tanya had grown to know that Jeremy was not a fan of overly energetic, dramatic and/or loud people.
"Yeah I do, we do make up together at HR sometimes, come lets go say hie" Tanya replied.
"I'd rather we don't" Jeremy said, "let's report to Keith Veld first before we galavant"
"Pshh this wont take a minute" Tanya said linking her arm with Jeremy's and pulling him to Keisha's direction.
"Hie guurrrrrl!" Keisha made a soft semi-loud-whisper squeal and opened up her arms to hug Tanya, "wow that moisturizer is doing you wonders your skin is so soft - I'm jealous"
"Soft as a babies butt" Tanya laughed.
Jeremy looked away from them and rolled his eyes. Girls will be girls.
"This is Jeremy, my co-intern" Tanya said tapping Jeremy's shoulders.
"Oh nice! Welcome to credit control, come get a hug too" Keisha said.
Jeremy was still thinking of how to politely refuse the kind gesture when Keith Veld showed up. Thank goodness!
"Keisha I see you've met the interns" Keith said.
"Yep I have" she grinned.
"Great" Keith turned to the interns and said "you'll work closely with Keisha, she's an accountant, she'll show and teach you the ins and outs, all you need to know."
"Yes sir, thank you" both interns nodded
"Right. well, welcome to the Credit control section" Keith's said then he turned and left.
"Ooooh you and l are gonna have so much fun!" Keisha continued still in high spirits, "I love interns you know, full of fresh ideas, the academic world is ever changing, feel free to suggest anything hey!"
The interns gave small laughs, Tanya nodded, Jeremy said "sure thanks."
"Awww don't be shy-y, grab some seats and lets chat" Keisha showed the interns some empty chairs and when they were seated continued, "sooo tell me, how's working with Mr O?"
"Fine I guess" Jeremy replied, he did not seem to want to participate in the gossip Keisha was brewing.
Keisha looked at Tanya and she said "huh, scary hahaha I'm always on edge with him!"
"Aha! I knew it" Keisha said banging a silent fist on the desk, "don't think it's a coincidence with you only, he's like that with every lady here."
Jeremy tried to look uninterested. Tanya's eyes widened, "why? He's the radical chauvinist type?"
"Not really," Keisha said, "it's a long story but lemme cut it short for you"
"All ears" Tanya said. Jeremy didn't respond but he did not give the impression to not want to know either.
Keisha narrated, "4 years ago, Mr O, Moses (he's in the Debtors department) and l arrived here as graduate trainees. A year later we were full time employees with proper job descriptions. But Mr O was never like us, while we were comfortable with our 1st degrees, he continued studying. He's a charted accountant, holds an MBA and is now studying for a doctorate. I have to admit, his work ethic is impeccable."
Jeremy's admiration for the guy sky rocketed and he exclaimed "wow". Tanya was impressed too.
Keisha continued, "around that time, there was a financial director, Dr Aleck James, everybody called him AJ, he was a real charmer, smooth talker, everybody loved him, most especially the ladies. A very generous man too, AJ could really make money rain" Keisha laughed "it was an open secret that he was a man-whore, he would have at least one flame in every department, and the younger the lady, the more susceptible to his prowess"
"Didn't the ladies ever clash?" Tanya asked.
"They did hahaha" Keisha answered, "like I said, he was a smooth talker, somehow whenever the ladies clashed he knew the right words to say to hinder them from throwing dramatic tantrums, all but one, and that cost him his career and job here at Eden Holdings."
..............................................................Author's note: Oops my bad something terrible happened: school.
I was hoping by now we'd have finished this coincidence but alas I was wrong. So this last chapter is very much incomplete. I will continue when I can, I cannot guarantee when though.
I'm really sorry. Forgive me. Please don't delete the book. I love you!
