Fighting cannibalistic monsters is exhausting.

The moment my head hit the pillow, I fell asleep. And then I dreamed. Yay.

In my dream, Nhalia was shooting arrow after arrow at Josh. And she was good. She would shoot one arrow, then shoot another before the first had even made contact. Thankfully, the only thing it made contact with was some shield that he had mysteriously acquired. For some reason, even though he wasn't getting hit, Josh was freaking out. I supposed it was because he was getting tired and he knew Nhalia wouldn't miss.

But then he saw me and yelled, "Save her! Save Trea!"

It was true that Treanne needed saving. Alex was fighting her, and he was clearly winning. His sword was changing into every weapon possible: sword, flaming sword, double-ended sword, flaming double-ended sword, nunchuks, flaming nunchuks, staff, double-ended staff, hammer, flaming hammer, double-ended hammer, flaming double-ended hammer, shurikens, daggers, knives, dagger, knife, and a ton more weapons that I couldn't name. Then it became a sword, and he hit Treanne with the hilt. She stumbled backward and tripped.

Alex raised the sword above her and hissed, "Treanne King, it's time to die."

He swung it downward and...

The dream changed.

I- or rather, my dream-self- collapsed, but quickly got up and looked around. This looked like the inside of a palace. There were thrones right in front of me, but no one was sitting on them. Well, forget the 'no one' part. I barely had time to think that when a group of- Giants? I don't know what else to call them.- when a group of giants simply materialized on the thrones. The first one to speak was tall- well, tall in comparison to some of the rest, because they were all huge. He had a black beard, eyes of the same colour, and a grumbly expression. A lightning bolt lay on his lap.

"Well.", he said, regarding me with an expression that made him look as though he'd eaten something sour (or possibly just rotten), or had smelled something terrible. Maybe both. "It's about time."

"Forgive me, father, Lord Zeus. It was I. I, with the aid of Iris and Hypnos. I sent her a dream, showing her the future. I apologize for the delay." The new speaker had light brown, maybe even golden hair that matched his soft brown eyes and golden robes

He bowed to the dark-haired guy, who was apparently Zeus. Zeus, in reply, simply made a face.

"Very well.", he said. "You may take your seat, Apollo."

"Father, it isn't wise to show mortals the future! They always try to change it, which can-"

"That will be enough, Athena. Apollo, return to your throne."

Apollo bowed again, and returned to the golden, throne he'd been sitting at. I made a mental note never to sit there, after considering the fact that it was on fire. Meanwhile, Athena was silently scowling at the floor.

Bit of a jerk sometimes, eh?, I mouthed.

She gave me a half-smile and nodded.

"Now, as I was saying-", said the almighty king of the gods who was beginning to seriously annoy me.

"Helloooo!", I yelled. "I exist too, you know!"

"Impertinence!", shrieked the woman beside the Greek version of Chris's father.

"Indeed." rumbled another annoying-and-mean-looking god. He looked familiar, but I couldn't place it. "We should squish her like the little bug she is!"

"Gee, thanks.", I muttered under my breath.

He, of course, ignored me. Meanwhile, I was still trying to figure out who he looked like. That's when I noticed the armour. I suddenly realized that he was Ares, which would mean, I thought, shocked, that he was Alex's dad.
