The park was almost completely empty. It was a rare occurrence and Kara found herself enjoying the quiet. The wind blew softly and the birds were chirping. It was a really nice day out. She and Lena walked through a beautiful bit, with lots of trees surrounding the pathway. While Lena was admiring the view, Kara was admiring her. Lena must've caught the blonde staring, though, because she stopped walking.

She turned to Kara with a sly smile. "Tell me what's going on with you," she said. Then she took a sip of her coffee.
Kara almost instantly turned red. She had an expression on her face that could only be read as pure panic.
"W-what do you mean?" Kara asked, trying to sound as oblivious as possible.
Lena squinted a little, trying to read the woman in front of her. "Come, sit down with me," she said.
Lena quickly made her way to the nearest bench, making Kara awkwardly run after her.
When Kara had settled on the bench all she was focusing on was, trying to make herself seem like less of a flustered mess. She almost didn't notice Lena chuckling beside her.

"What did I do? Do I have cream on my nose?" Kara asked as she wiped her nose.
Lena half-smiled. "No, you don't. But you do have a secret that you're keeping from me."
"N-no I don't."
"Kara, come on. You've been acting super weird around me lately. I just want to know if it was something I did."
Kara sighed heavily, "You didn't do anything."
"Then what is it? I really want to help."

Kara caught Lena's gaze for a moment, and her heart ached. 'Truth was that she couldn't tell Lena about her feelings. It would get too complicated too quickly. Best case scenario; They'd start dating. But then Kara would feel like a liar all the time because she hadn't told Lena about the whole, well, the whole Supergirl thing. Lena would obviously be hurt if she found out that Kara was keeping stuff from her. Plus all the danger she'd be putting Lena in.
Telling Lena would be selfish.

Kara looked down on her hands for a bit. Her nail beds were torn from the amount of fidgeting she'd been doing. At least I can't bleed, she thought. She had to find out if there was even the slightest chance, ever, for Lena and her to have something other than a friendship. She had to.

"Lena, are you gay?"
Kara thought she'd be looking down, waiting anxiously for an answer, but as soon as she'd said the words Lena basically choked on her coffee, forcing the blonde to look up.
"Lena, oh my gosh, are you okay? - oh, hah, that rhymed," Kara laughed nervously as she patted Lena on the back.

"I-I'm fine. Just got caught off guard."
Lena softly pressed her thumb to the corner of her mouth, stopping a single drop of coffee from sliding down.
The brunette turned to face Kara and let out a small laugh. "Gay, huh? Do I give off a strong vibe or something?"

"N-no? Yes? I don't know? My gaydar is pretty bad. Couldn't even detect my own sister's gayness," Kara giggled in response.

"Don't be so hard on yourself. Alex couldn't even detect her own gayness," Lena joked, getting up from the bench and reaching for Kara's hand. "Let's keep walking. It's getting a bit chilly."

Kara took Lena's hand and walked with.
She only realized a few moments later.

Kara cocked her brow slightly.
"Lena, you didn't answer my question."
"Hm?"
"Are you gay? Do you like girls?" Kara knew she sounded a little too eager to know, but she didn't care.
Lena grinned,
"Kara, I don't like girls-" she paused, and Kara's stomach dropped, "I like women."
