Kacey and the ALDC(Dance Moms Fanfic)

Chapter 4

Kacey's P.O.V~

I wake up on Sunday morning, ready to film for dance moms. I get into the shower and after I get dressed in a pair of black booty aldc shorts with a black bra top that says ALDC on it. I put my hair into a basic donut bun with a little bow in the side. I pack my bag for the day and I go downstairs to my mom.

"Morning Mom." I say to her smiling. "Morning Kacey!" She says smiling. She puts a plate of pancakes infront of me. "Now before pyramid you have a voice lesson with Abby's voice teacher and Abby." She tells me. "Okayyy" I say smiling. Kalani comes down and sits next to me. The camera crew is in here filming us which is kinda weird. "Morning Kalani!" My mom and I say. "Are you guys excited for pyramid today?" Mom asks. "Kinda" I say and so does kalani. "Kacey why are you nervous?" Mom asks.

"Well I won, but I'm scared of what the other mothers will say if I'm on top." I say. "Ignore them." Mom and Kalani say at the same time which we all laugh over. "Kalani why are you nervous?" Mom asks. "My sister beat me, I know Abby will rub it in my face." She says. I sigh. Kalani and I keep talking while mom cleans up. I put on warm ups over my dance clothes and we head out the door.

We get to the studio and Gianna has me go into the music room. Abby is in there and she has a guest. I look and see that Idina Menzel (Elsa in frozen) is with her. "Meet my good friend, you should know her from frozen." Abby says. "Miss Abby, She also starred in wicked, rent and so many other things." I say speechless. "Abby has called me in to see what kind of voice you have." She says. I nod.She has me do vocal warmups for awhile and then we just talk about vocal stuff. "Can you sing Problem by Ariana Grande for me?" She asks. I nod.

I start singing and add some of my own riffs and such in. Idina is in shock and she claps. "You will be very successful, weither its broadway, or being a pop star!" She says.I smile and thank her. "Can you sing Let it go just to humor me?" She says. I nod and start singing it. I use my voice and add my own twist while keeping with the notes. She smiles and we just go through other stuff. "Thank you for coming in today." I say being polite. "thank you for sharing your voice." Idina says. We hug and Abby and her talk while I stretch and warm up before pyramid.

We get called in for pyramid at 9. We all stand in line. Kalani is on the side of the moms then its Maddie,me,Kenzie,Chloe,Nia,and Kendall. Jill is towards the door, then Melissa, my mom, holly, and Christi.

"So last weeks competition was a success. We had a nice clean sweep and I couldn't be prouder. " Abby says."now onto the pyramid." she continues. She pulls off the bottom picture and its Kendall. "Kendall you were just in the group dance, no special part and you didn't even perform that well." Abby says. Jill rolls her eyes. "Well maybe if you weren't so focused on KACEY then maybe Kendall would've been more prepared." Jill says pointing at me. "Jill do not bring my child into this." My mom says calmly.

"Anyways next on the pyramid is Chloe." Abby says. Christi just nods. "Chloe you flew under the radar. You were a friend in the group but what kind of friend forgets to grab their hand?" Abby says. "After Chloe is Kalani." Abby says. "Kalani I gave you a beautiful solo with a gorgeous costume. You were the oldest dancer in the division from ALDC.You were supposed to be the projected winner. You were third. I dislike third. " Abby says. Kalani sighs and nods. Mom nods aswell. "Next is second place.. Maddie." abby says.

"Maddie you beat Kalani but you could only take down Half of the Hilliker duo." Abby says. "You had a regular part in the group and I think you needed to work it out better. " abby admits honestly. "Next is Nia." Abby says. "Nia you were spectacular, I loved watching you in the group and you took all of my corrections well." Abby says. Holly smiles and so does Nia. "Nia you've grown as a dancer and I feel like now you understand why I put you in extra ballet privates." Abby says.

"Moving up the pyramid is Kenzie." Abby says. "Kenzie you were in the winning duet. When you and Kacey danced it was like magic. I truly felt like you got into character, in both dances." Abby says. "and at the top of the pyramid is Kacey!"Abby says. The girls hug me and the moms clap. "Kacey you had a complete clean sweep, you danced beautifully and I loved the enthusiasm to learn. Kacey is not only a beautiful dancer but she is a story teller, she told the story in her solo and used emotions and face. You all could learn that." Abby says.

"This week we are going to starpower. " Abby says. I nod and smile at her. "This week Kacey,Kenzie,Nia and Chloe will all have solos. Kacey and Kenzie will be competing against each other and Nia and Chloe will be competing against each other." Abby says. "There will be a duet which is Maddie and Kacey. Kacey you danced with one Ziegler but can you dance with the other?" Abby asks and I nod.

"The group is a contemporary number entitled XIAT. Kacey will be this girl with Anxiety and the rest of you are her fears. Kalani is being judged- everything needs to be poised and perfect. Chloe is weight- You will be doing a lot of stomach holding. Maddie is perfectionism- Everything will be in order. Kenzie is loneliness- Kenzie will be dancing away from the group. Nia is the fear of dying- a lot of depressing thought.. Kendall you are depression- you will be sad the whole dance." Abby says. "Alright lets get started." She continues.

We get started for group rehearsal and so far its going well. All of my fears start onstage and at one point they follow me around the stage and they start "attacking me " like my fears are attacking me. We keep going through the group and I use as many facials as possible. "KACEY ACT IT OUT DONT USE SO MANY FACIALS!" Abby yells. I nod and use my acting skills. "much better." she states.

We finish the group and rehearse it. "Okay now I want Kacey for her solo. Then I want Maddie in here at 10:30 to do the duet. "Abby says. Everyone nods. They all leave. "Kacey this week you will be doing a lyrical/contemporary solo entitled "My heart will go on." Which is inspired by the movie the Titanic. " Abby explains. "You're playing the part of Rose so this is about loosing your love." Abby says. I nod my head.

"So you're gonna start on the floor. And during the soft intro you are going to just get up, pique turn twice into a back attitude with arms up. Then stand looking over diagonally to front of stage right. " Abby says. She gives me choreography.  "For the first chorus, you will do turns. To start we will have a pirouette into 5 fouttes, to 5 a la seconds and end in a triple pirouette to a coupè turn." She instructs. I do that and then we keep choreographing and the choreo is difficult.

After my solo rehearsal she calls Maddie in. "Maddie, your sister and Kacey  won with a jazz duet, you and Kacey will have a lyrical. It's called together as one. The catch is.. there's no music. " Abby says. "You guys will perform with out music and have to keep in time with one another. We will be giving you music to learn it with today but after that we will take it off. " abby says. We both nod.

We learn it and it's pretty easy. I mean I find it easy but Maddie was struggling a little bit with the turns, but I think its just because its new.  We run the duet a lot and we finish the whole thing and run it, filming it to practice with. Its really exciting. We finish the duet rehearsal and then I go and take a couple more classes like Tap,Jazz and lyrical. 

After dance, mom takes Kalani and I home. Kalani and I run our dances in the basement before dinner. I then work on a hip hop routine and use street shoes.
