// Eliana //

"Where are we going?" I asked Peter as we continued to walk own the street. "You're going to meet your other cousin." he huffed. "What is he?" I asked. "Who?" he asked, trying to act dumb. "Roman. He isn't normal." I said. "Why? Do you have a need to protect him too?" he chuckled, teasing me. "Actually, yeah, and his sister too." I said, irritated. "Well, don't. He can handle himself." Peter shook his head. "The problem is that he can't." I said, defensively. "HE CAN! Get in your head. If you help, you could be the one dead. He's an upir!" Peter snapped. "Upir?" I asked. "Vampire, and you happen to be a favorite." Peter sighed. "What am I, exactly?" I asked. "I don't think your mom would be too happy if I was the one that told you. When's your birthday?" he asked. "In a couple weeks." I sighed. "God. It's coming close." he said under his breath.

After walking for another 10 minutes, we arrived to a home with a sign hung on the door. It said 'Master Psychic Destiny'. "Destiny?" I asked. "That's her name." Peter chuckled. He just walked in, not even bothering to knock. "What're you doing?" I asked. "She probably has a client." Peter shrugged as we walked into her living room. I then heard in the other room a couple screaming, then the door flew open, and they ran out. "I'm sorry!" the man apologized, as he threw money at her. She was coughing up blood. "Leave and never come back!" she yelled at the couple. "What the hell..." I said as I watched through the beaded doorway. "It's all an act. Gypsies, remember." Peter chuckled. The couple ran out and Peter walked towards the beads, pushing them out of the way. There was a girl on the floor with blood falling from her mouth, probably Destiny. "Hi sweetie. Let me just clean up." she smiled, grabbing all the money off of the floor. "Yes. Suckers." she laughed, closing the bedroom door.

"So you're the one and only, Eliana? The one they've been trying to keep us from." she giggled, making us coffee. "I guess." I said with a small laugh before taking the cup from her. "Let me see 'em." she said, eager. "What?" I asked confused. "Your ears." she clapped. "Oh." I laughed, pushing my hair behind my ears. "Beautiful." she said, touching the top of them. "Thanks, I guess. But, why is everyone so obsessed with them?" I sighed. "She doesn't know?" Destiny questioned Peter. "Nope." he shook his head. "Hm." she shook her head. "So... What brings you two?" she smiled, leaning over the counter. We explained to her the whole thing about Roman and the vargulf. "It's not your problem. Both of you." she scolded. "The vargulf is dangerous, but short lived. It's like any other disease. You need to understand that. You don't want to or need to help it." she said, turning towards me while putting emphasis on the need to part. "How did you know I wanted to help it?" I asked. "I know you have it in you, that feeling. It's very rare." she nodded. "So, is it going to kill again?" Peter asked. "Mhm, it won't stop until it destroys himself." she shrugged. "Exactly, why it needs help." I added. "No. It will, in the end, destroy itself. No matter what. Let nature take it's course. Both of you, stay out of the way." she warned, pointing at us with her spoon. "But, I mean ...if, theoretically, we were to try to help him, there was no way we could?" Peter asked. "Only if you kill him before he destroys himself." she shrugged. "There has to be another way." I sighed out. "None. Stop, don't let it get to you. The vargulf will eat you alive, especially you." she warned me. "Alright." I sighed. "Now, about that upir. How do you know, did you ask him?" she asked, as Peter sat on the couch. "Hell no. I haven't ASKED him. He's confused, he doesn't know it yet." Peter laughed. "I don't know he's trying to be the good guy or something." Peter sighed, grabbing a cigarette. "What the hell? Why are all of you talking about this? An upir?! Seriously Peter." she scolded. "You. What're you to him?" she asked, turning towards me. "I don't know. Friends." I shrugged, not mentioning the date. "Peter." she sighed. "What?! I tried." he sighed. "You need to watch this one." she shook her head. "He needs to watch himself." I sighed under my breathe. "He knows." Peter confessed. "What? How much does he know?" she asked, concerned. "He was there for the last turn." he sighed. "What the fuck, Peter?!" she scolded, hitting his leg. "The only thing you don't tell anyone ever! You let an upir watch?!" she yelled. "You weren't there." Peter smoked. "I certainly wasn't." she shook her head. "I don't know. There's this thing. We have the same dreams, all of us." he said, pointing towards me. "You've never had real friends before. Sweetie, oh god." she said with clear sympathy towards Peter. "Look. Run, run before it's too late for you, and take her with you ...before it happens." she said, grabbing his hand. "I should get home. My mom must be throwing a fit." I said, standing up and stretching. "I haven't seen Marie in such a long time." she smiled, Marie is my mom. "Well, I'll tell her you said hi." I nodded at her. "Walk her home." Destiny advised Peter. He nodded and we left.
