Chapter 4: Dead Inside II

(Archie and Veronica are going to the hospital while they are on their way Archie call Jughead)

*Phone call to Jughead [Archie's Phone]*

Jughead: What do you want Archie? now you regret not having come with me and having stayed with your girlfriend? (he is freaking out)
Archie: Jughead (get interrupted)
Jughead: No, now no, I don't want to hear excuses (get interrupted)
Archie: JUGHEAD! Shut up, we know where is Betty
Jughead: wait, what? what are you talking about? WHERE IS SHE?
Archie: She............ on.............tal (phone interference)
Jughead: ARCHIE!!! where??? where is she?!!
Archie ... is.... the.....pital (phone interference)
Jughead: ARCHIE!!? ON THE HOSPITAL??!!
Archie: She...................e hospital (phone interference)
Jughead: oh my God! ARCHIE! is she at the hospital?
Archie: Ye...e...s (phone interference)

*Jughead POV*

Jughead POV: oh God! why? oh my God! (runs to the hospital)

*At the hospital*
(Nobody can see Betty, all her family and Kevin are waiting in the waiting room, Veronica, and Archie just arrived and they are at the entry)
(Jughead arrives exhausted, he came running)

Jughead: (to Veronica and Archie) Where is Betty?!
Veronica: She is in that room *points* we are waiting for the doctors.

(Jughead runs toward the room who Veronica pointed)

Veronica: Jughead, NO! You can't (tries to stop him, but he continues running)

(Jughead see a Betty for a second through the window, but at that moment the doctor sees him)

Doctor: Hey boy! what are you think doing here? you can't stay here!
Jughead: I have to see Betty Cooper (he starts to shed tears)
Doctor: now you can't, now she is a critical patient
Jughead: what? (he says while one of the members of the security staff takes his arm and takes him to the waiting room)

*In the waiting room*

Jughead: (to Alice) What exactly happened to Betty?
Alice: according to the doctor, he says she had a mental breakdown.
Jughead: but why?
Alice: Well, I don't know if she said this to you but she has the Dissociative Identity Disorder, but I think she didn't have any episode of this, she didn't tell me anything.
Jughead and Veronica at the same time: She did (they look each other)
Veronica: She did, we were trying to get Chuck, Chuck Clayton, apologize to me for something he did, but Betty disguised herself with a wig and she did as if he was Jason and as if she was Polly.
Polly: what? She did so?
Jughead: also, she told me that sometimes she does bad things to herself, she shows me her hands, she nails her nails in her hands.
Alice: she didn't tell me anything, we have to talk with the doctor.

(Alice called the doctor and minutes after, he comes)

Doctor: Something you have to tell me, Mrs. Cooper?
Alice: Yes, I didn't know it but my daughter friends told me Betty had an episode of her Dissociative Identity Disorder, and also, she nails her nails in her hands.
Doctor: ok, so it does our work a little bit simple, do you know if she has a medicine or something who she has to take?
Alice: yes, she has, but I'm not really sure if she took them.
Doctor: ok, so probably what we are going to do is give her a dose of her medication through vein and let's see how she react.
Alice: ok, and how many time we have to wait for see her?
Doctor: It takes a little bit of time, so relax and wait, it's all, wait, you said she had some pills right?
Alice: yess...
Doctor: Do you know what is the name of these pills?
Alice: I actually don't know, why do you want to know the name?
Doctor: so, not too much time ago some pills went sold, and time after was found that they contained some strange element that is not good for the people's health, people who took them after they had some symptoms like vomits, faint, insensibility and more, so if she took just one pill all that could happen to her.
Jughead: what? (at the background)
Alice: so you could do something to her for know if she took them?
Doctor: If she didn't take them today we are not going to find if she took them, there isn't a way to know the name of these pills?
Alice: yes! I have them in my house.
Doctor: so if you could bring them to us it would make a little bit easy the things (he leaves)

(Alice to Polly and Hal)

Alice: We have to go for these pills, but I don't want to leave Betty here with these kids
Jughead (who is listening all): Mrs. Cooper, I CAN STAY HERE, we are all here, you should go for the pills and take clothes of something for Betty and all of us, the doctor said she is going to be here for a long time.
Alice: ok, but call me if anything happens (the coopers leave)

(Jughead, Archie, Veronica, and Kevin are at the hospital; Jughead is walking side by side around the room)

Archie: Jughead, could you sit down and chill for a minute?
Veronica (to Archie): *whispers* Archie, let him do whatever he wants, he's stressed, put yourself in his place.
Jughead: I CAN'T ARCHIE, I CAN'T!

(The doctor comes)

Doctor: Alice?
Jughead: She leaves with her husband and her other daughter for Betty's pills and clothes.
Doctor: Well, so I can trust you? *laughs*
Jughead: yes, I'm her boyfriend *laughs nervous*
Doctor: well, so Betty is starting to wake up (get interrupted)
Jughead: what? can I see her?
Doctor: Wait, you need to know something before... (get interrupted)
Jughead: I'm going to see her (he goes to Betty's room)

(Jughead runs to Betty's room but he stops when he see her through the window, he stay looking at her and some tears come down. He enters the room)

Jughead: Betty, Betty, Betty! (says silently while he caresses her leg to her hip)
(Betty moves a little bit)
Jughead: Betty! (silently)
Betty: what happened? (disoriented)
Jughead: Hi! I love you, love you so much Betty (hold her hand)
Betty: I know Jughead, but, what I am doing here? (she looks around)
Jughead: It's just you.... (a machine starts to sound)
Machine: piiii, piiiii, piiiii......
Jughead: Betty!!! Betty!!!
(Betty don't answer. Jughead leaves the room and go to warn the doctor)
Jughead: HELP!!! HELP!!!!!
Doctor: What happened?!!!
Jughead: Something starts to sound!
Doctor: (hear the sound) Oh my god! you have to go!
Jughead: WHY?! WHAT IS THAT?!!!!
(Doctor enters the room and closed the door)
Jughead: WHAT IS THAT!!!!???????
Nurse: You have to go to the waiting room (she takes him by the arm and tries to take him to the waiting room)
Jughead: (tries to don't leave the hall of the room) NOO! I NEED TO STAY HERE!
