Laila Displayed Above
-A Decade Later-
-Laila's Pov-
Three days until Halloween. You say that a fifteen year old is too old to go out trick or treating? Definitely is not. Halloween makes me go back to when I was a kid and I am still a kid.
"Class, on Halloween, we are going on a field trip to 5672 Desmee Drive." Ms. Raison declared. "It's only just this class and already got permission from the school board to go there. You already excuse from classes."
"How did you get permission to get us on a field trip to go a dangerous house?" Diana blurted.
"I negotiated that we are going to a community service facility at a local church." She winked.
"That's why classmates call you a crazy bitch." Sarah Sas stated. Sarah Sas and Diana Roser are friends and they are crazy. Bolingbrook Junior High is letting kids from middle school in high school classes even in study halls. I heard rumours stating that Sarah and Diana are thrill-seekers. The thrill-seekers that risked their lives for the thrill. Pretty sure that is true, but rumours are rumours. To make more of a suprise, Diana and Sarah are eighth graders and they have 'friends' all way down to fourth grade.
"If the Halloween field trip is not a hoax, we definitely would be going to investigate there." Diana said.
"Students, we are going to the house at day, so we might not get much activity. If something happens, we are immediately leaving." Ms. Raison informed.
I looked down towards my Algebra homework. My teacher is crappy, so that is why I get tutoring from another Algebra teacher, Mr. Fillmore. Everything is so easy now! I am proud that I made that right choice!
"Hey Laila!" Sarah called me from her table.
"What?" I asked.
"I realized something." She said.
"Realized what?" I raised the brow.
"We looked up the looks of the ghost before she turned insane and died." Sarah spoke.
"So?" I said kind of annoyed.
"So?" Diana chuckled. " You look like the bitch and you have the same last name, Laila. Can you be her daughter without realizing it?"
"What?" I snapped skeptical. "No! She was probably busy killing people instead of banging them."
Diana bursted out laughing. "Guess what, killer? There are rumours that she had a baby before she died."
"Yeesh! What's with the rumours on that psycho? People so obsessed of her." I started to laugh. "Rumours aren't true."
"Whatever, but if your bloodline ends up to be a serial killer, have fun with life." Diana waves slowly.
By the end of the day, I was drove home by the bus. I didn't bother to ask mother nor father about my bloodline. I still doubted that I was the daughter of craziest killer that even walked the Earth. That night I never slept not because I felt something bad is about to happen. Probably is just the creepiness of going into an actual haunted house or maybe...of what Diana told me was true. No, that couldn't be possible. She probably just say that to scare me because I know she is very creepy.
Maybe the unsettlement came from that a ghost might possibly going to kill me tomorrow. Oh well, I hope that Mrs. Raison will be in jail or possibly get the school filed into a lawsuit.
My eyes shook wide opened when I heard the sound of knocking upon my front door. "Laila, get up! You only ten minutes until the bus!" I heard my mother shout. Damn it, I slept through my alarm clock!
Time flew past very quickly at school. Then time came where we had to go on a field trip. Damn, I wished that this never happened. The gut feeling something very wrong is about to happen. I sat alone on the bus and ignore the noisy atmosphere created by other students. There was only ten of us, all of Mrs. Raison's class. Kind of wierd that a study hall teacher would let her class go on the field trip. Welp, the school board somehow agreed that we are going onto 'a field trip to a church.' Honestly, I'd prefer going to a church then actually where we going. I am not that religious. Would you rather go to a haunted house or go to a church that doesn't involve the risk of being killed?
The bus came into a complete stop. The worst part is that we are at the epicenter of how the mile radius of deserted came to be. We are among the sidewalk to a burnt standing house, 5672 Desmee Drive.
Mrs. Raison finally spoke after coming out of the nerves that she might put herself into. She took a deep breath. "Class, here we go. Ready to tour the house? Welcome to 5672 Desmee Drive, home of the serial killer!"
