Lunch With You Is Nice

Corl's POV

I walked into the cafeteria with Alex, Sub, Sketch and Ethan. " So where are going to sit at? " I ask. " You guys get your food, I'll find a table " Alex said.
" I'll go with you, I'm not feeling like eating. " I said as I followed close behind him. We actually find an empty table near a window.

Me and Alex sat down while waiting for the others. Alex seemed odd.
" What's wrong? " I ask him. " I got a weird feeling of something " He said.
" What do you mean? " I ask.
" Something odd is going to happen, I'm sure. " He said.

I looked around the cafeteria to spot the others but my eyes landed on Denis who just walked into the cafeteria. He looked around but then he looked towards me and Alex.

" Alex, I think I know what you meant by something odd " I said as I pulled on his sleeve. He look at me confused but after is signaled him onto Denis he looked shocked.

Denis started to walk towards our table. " Oh shoot, he's coming here. I am so dead! " Alex panicked as he looked back down at his phone to pretend that he didn't see Denis.

I about to pull out my phone to do what Alex does but Denis already stood next to our table.

" Hey, Braden " He said. That poker face of his never got off since were in class. " Uh H-hey Denis! " I said as I look at him. I can feel me panicking internally. " And Alex? " He said as he look at Alex. " O-oh, hey D-Denis! " Alex said as he gave him an awkward laugh.

" I thought you're not scared of me since you scoot my friends off before " Denis laughed at Alex. " I am not scared of you! I-I could just get you in trouble! " Alex said.

" Anyway, Braden. Mind if I sit here? " Denis asked. I look at Alex and he just shrug at me. " Uh s-sure " I said. At first I thought he's going to sit next to Alex. Instead, he sat next to me. Oh Lord...

The three of us sat in silence. Alex is too scared to talk, I am sitting next to a tough guy and Denis, who knows what he's thinking about.

I saw Sub, Sketch and Ethan walking towards us with their food. When they are at the table they look at me, curiously. " Denis, what are you doing here? " Sketch ask. " If you didn't see, I am sitting " Denis said bluntly. The three of them, Sub, Sketch and Ethan looked at each other. They say down but they kept their distance from Denis a bit far. Now it is just me that is next to Denis. I could've gotten killed. " Lunch with you are nice " I heard a voice. I look to my right and saw Denis, looking at me. " What? " I asked. " It's nice sitting at lunch with you " He smiled a bit. Well that's odd.

I'm no alchemist or somethin but it is odd for a bully to smile to someone he just met. Especially the one who just moved to this school. " O-oh " I looked back down at my phone. We stayed silent again.

" I'll meet you at the front of the school after class. " He said out of sudden as he got up and left. I saw a paper at a spot where he sat seconds ago.

I pick it up and read it.

" Text me if you need anything xxx-xxx "

" Is that his number? " Alex asked. " I uh- nope " I hid the paper. He looked at me for a moment but then proceed to mingle with his phone.

That's a close call.

I am sorry for not editing this earlier! I was busy planning class party for the end of the year and I need to organize things.
