WICKEDNESS

I've always loved that smile,
It had always sent butterflies fluttering in my stomach,
It had always made my palm sweaty,
Always made my head cloudy,
Always made my tongue malfunction.
But not today.
Today, that smile
Has forced my stomach to turn and return my breakfast,
That smile has made my palm dry... too dry
It has made my head blank
And made my tongue dead with shock.
For the first time in forever,
I've  seen that smile for real,
I've realised that smile never touched the eye,
I've realised that smile was a mask,
I've realised that that glint in the eye was  a cover-up.
Today, it's plain and clear,
That glint covers it no more.
Today, I understand that smile.
Today, that smile meets the eye
...But wait... in the eye
All I see is
WICKEDNESS!
