Chapter Four

"Can you please stop shaking your hair over me?"

He smirks and continues to shake his long soaked hair onto my bone dry hair. I groan and slam my fist back into his gut before I start walking a little quicker. I chuckle slightly seeing he's stopped flicking his dripping wet hair onto me. I twist around and walk backwards as I face him.

"So," I smirk as I raise and eyebrow and wink.

He furrows his eyebrows and stares at me. "What? This can't be good, I know that face," He grumbles slightly.

I smirk more. "I saw Jemimah in the lake..." I tease.

Immediately, red floods into his cheeks and I laugh. He hits me in the shoulder and sighs. "Shut up Ren,"

I grin and run my teeth over my tongue inside of my mouth. "Y'know I caught a glimpse of y-"

"Just shut up!" He says sternly, but still semi jokingly, knowing what I was referring to and was going to say.

I laugh slightly and rip out a bit of mud that was tangled into my hair. "You love her!" I grin as I drag out the word 'love'. I loved teasing him over his crush on Jemimah, it's always hilarious.

He scowls, with a slight smirk and says. "I'll have you know, I'm thinking of asking her out to dinner,"

I give a short laugh. "You're kidding, you'd never pluck up the courage to ask someone out, you chicken!"

He shrugs and flicks his hair again. "Well, we'll see," He says as he wraps his big strong arms around my neck and he rubs my head with the top of his knuckles. I squeal and glare at him before I hit him in the face so that he releases me. "So where are we going again?"

"The wall, course," I say and I sigh. I take a bigger breath than usual before I quickly ask. "Hey, would you hate me if I erm joined the Rebels?"

His eyes and brows perk up. "C'mon, we both know that isn't possib-"

"Tiger, I saw Maverick early this morning. He's gonna mention to them that I want in,"

He rubs his eyes from tiredness. "Okay then,"

I look down and I scratch my head a bit. "There's another thing too,"

He looks at me questioningly.

I bite on my lip then look away. "I'm gonna go over the wall,"

He almost chokes on this idea. He stares at me and sighs. "That was a joke,"

I shake my head emotionlessly.

He rubs his eyes again and pinches the bridge of his nose. "That's suicidal,"

I shake my head again. "I could get over, I'm sure I can... People have before,"

"Ren, they're legends, myths, rumours. Hardly even true,"

There are rumours about how 5 young adults, also rebels, went over the wall and they never returned. They were never seen again. No one knows where they went or where they are now. Everyone thinks they are dead.

I chew on my nails and I'm about to say something when I see someone running from the fence to the clearing. I use my hand to try and get a better look of them, shielding the tiny rays of sunlight that were just beginning to peak out of the sky from my eyes. As they draw closer, I can see who it is.

I smirk and glance at Tiger. Maverick soon reaches us and he looks up at me. He gives a nod of greetings and acknowledgement to Tiger then looks at me. "You're gonna love this,"
