Chapter Seven

"Oh my god..." I know his reactions and emotions to Rick immediately, I can tell them by every single part of him.

Rick stares up at the unfamiliar man in fright, his skin trembling at the sight of the buff young man whom is my best friend. I have to crouch down to Rick to reassure him. "Don't worry, this is Tiger he's my friend he'll help us. Tiger, this is Rick,"

"Whoa whoa whoa, firstly Ren, don't drag me into this immediately," I apologise. "And secondly, where is he from? Why is he here? What happened," I explain everything and I know that I have now got a clear answer from Tiger. He'll help us, thank god.

"So what's the plan? You must have a plan, Ren, you always do," I can hear the slight frosty coldness in his voice, and it makes my toes curl in annoyance.

And just then, if things couldn't get any worse, the rebels appear out of the bushes. "You took down a beast? Jesus," Maverick says, shaking his head. He then sees the kid and its Rhea who speaks next. "Who's that simpleton huh?"

I grit my teeth and look at Tiger, who just sighs and stands up.

I look back at Rick who looks terrified. "Just uh, ignore them," He gives a faint nod and I can see how much he's shaking now.

I stand up as well, needing to speak to the Rebels. "Where have you all been? You've been gone for days,"

It's the bright redhead who speaks first. "Making preparations,"

I blink a bit, puzzled. "For what?"

Tiger replies instead of Red; part of what he says is said directly at me and the other part is said to the one and only Kalix. "You can be thick sometimes, even I freaking know what they're talking about, and you're gonna leave Ash? You can't do that to her,"

Kalix scoffs and sighs. "When do I ever talk to her anyway huh? I bet she wouldn't even miss me,"

I pull my tangled hair down my left and I glare up at Kalix. "We all know that it's true, you're her br-"

"Half brother," Kalix and Tiger correct me at exactly the same time in a stern tone. They still haven't gotten on after all these years, but I'm not surprised that they haven't. After all that's happened, and if I was either of them, I would feel just how they feel or maybe even worse.

I can see Rick looks confused - as always, but I'll have to explain everything in detail eventually, but right now I just wanted to get back on the other side of the fence so that we aren't attacked again. But, that is unlikely to happen because Tiger has his hands around Kalix's throat.

"Don't be anymore of an ass than you already are you dirty fucker!" Tiger spits as his blackened hands get slightly whiter as his grip gets firmer and former around the leader's throat.

"Stop it your killing him!" Shouts Rhea, which is a goddamn lie. Kalix wouldn't be that easy to kill. If he was, then I would of killed him already.

Tiger releases Kalix, eventually, and before he has even taken his first breath, he's swinging his rock hard fist and smashing Tiger out cold. Step brotherly love, huh? I just shake my head and grit my teeth. They can be as bad as each other sometimes. I feel a fragile hand tug on my lower trouser leg and I frown, seeing Rick. I had no idea what to do right now, do I deal with Tiger, the rebels, or Rick? They're all tangling together now, paths leading into others and they all lead to a muddled mess.

I grip at my hair and say. "Tiger get up we need to get Rick into the village," But it's stupid me saying that, since he's out cold. I groan and a positive seems to breakthrough the dark air.
