He was leaning in, slowly. His eyes taking a hold on me. He was grinning.

"I love you" He whispers, I could feel his lips moving, they were so close to my lips.

"I love you too" I whisper back. I close the small gap between us and kiss him. I feel so good, like. . .

"Elizabeth!"  Huh? What's going on? I look up, and he's dissapearing. What? "Elizabeth!"

"What?" I whisper, realizing it was all  day dream.

"You're staring. Look away before he notices." My best friend, Maddie said. I was looking at Dylan, who was new this year and extremely hot.

It was the first day of senior year, and already I liked this guy. Quickly, I looked away. Maddie already knew how I felt about him, I tell her everything. She grinned at me. We were at school, in math class. I already finished my work, so I guess I wasn't paying attention to anything but my daydreams. It was fun watching him think hard. He has this cute look on his face, his eybrows pulled together, his eyes locked on the paper in front of him. Ugh, I'm so stupid. A guy like that would never like me like that.  I look up at the clock, hoping class is almost over. Fve minutes left.

"So, Madds, how's Mr. Wonderful?"

She beams. "Good, he's taking me to the movies Friday." Her boyfriend, of two years is Alex. He is a year older than her, but everyone thinks they are the perfect couple. They are, too. He treats her so good, and they love eachother.

"Awe, that's good. Have fun" I say to her.

"Thanks, I will." Then the bell rings, telling us it's time for the next class, my seventh period class, which is study hall. So early in the year, I don't have anything to catch up on. I'll just read. I get up and pick my binder and textbook up. I wasn't looking, and I ran into someone, and dropped my books.

"Sorry," I mumbled. I bent down to pick up my books.

"No, It's okay, I'm sorry. Here, let me help you." It sounded like a guy. He bent down to pick up my textbook for me. I realized it was him. Dylan. He stood up, handing me my books. He looked at me. "Oh, hey, aren't you Elizabeth?" Oh no. Did he see me staring? Maybe not.

Act cool  "Yes. And you're. . .Dylan?" I asked trying to act like I didn't know.

"Yes" He replied. The minute bell rang.

"Oh no, I should probably go." I said. I started to walk away.

"See you around, Ellie." I blushed. He called me by a nickname. As I was walking away, I was happy I was turned the other way so he couldn't see me blushing. I walked into the study hall room, just in time as Mr. Reedy started roll. I sighed as I sat in a seat between Maddie and Luke. Luke is my brother. Well, not really but we think of eachother as that.

"What took so long?" Maddie hissed.

"Sorry, I- um something happened," my face started to get hot, "I'll tell you later." Maddie nodded. Once roll was called, Maddie, Luke, and I went out into the hall and sat against the wall.

"So." Maddie prompted.

"So, I was getting my books and standing up when. . ." I told her the whole story.

"Oh my gosh! He called you Ellie? Aww!" Maddie gushed.

"Ew. Seriously. A guy calls some girl a nickname and that means he loves you? Sorry Liz, I just don't get it." Luke smiled. I punched him in the shoulder. "Ow" He said. I smiled. "But  I'm sure he does like you. I mean, he'd me stupid not to. But he better not mess with my lil' sis. I'll kick his ass if he does." Luke smiles.

"Lil  sis?I am not little. Your only three months older than me." I replied.

"Still, can't you just be happy you got me to back you up. Most girls would love it. I mean c'mon, Luke, telling you something like that. Girls would love -"

"I'm not most girls. But yes, thank you."

"Well, I need to catch up on some work." Maddie says, sighing.

"Okay, have fun."Luke says. She just rolled her eyes. After ten minutes, I was tired just sitting there.

"Why don't we go see if Mr. Reedy needs any help?" I asked Luke.

"Sure." He nodded. We walked inside to Mr. Reedy's desk.

"Hi, Mr. Reedy. Can we help you with anything?" I asked.

"Actually, yes. Can you guys take the attendance slip to the office, and while you are there, can you make copies of these study guides?" Luke and I nodded. I took the attendance slip and Luke took the study guide.

We walked out the door. "Hey, did you hear about the dare?" Luke asked me.

"Please not another ask-a-girl-out-then-dump-her dare." I groan.

"You know I never actually go through with those. I'm not that  heartless. No, it wasn't though. It was actually a bet. Me and Tony bet that whoever could get Samantha to ask them out first, wins," Tony was one of Luke's friends, and Samantha was a mean, popular girl, "so of course I won. And now he has to go out with Daina. The funny thing is, though is that she knows that it's part of the bet, but she wants to help me out by making him miserable." Luke laughed. Daina was one of our friends, well we knew her. Just then, we saw Daina, holding Tony's hand, coming out of the office.

"Did we have to sign up for the Senior Party" Tony was saying.

"Yes! We should do something together!" Daina said. As Tony was walking past us, he gave a look tha said I'm goning to kill you , and as he walked away, he mouthed help me. Luke gave him a thumbs up, which won him a glare.

Luke and I laughed, really hard, really long. As we were still laughing, I saw Dylan walking. He saw us and looked at us, his face had this look, was that. . .jealousy? No way. I smiled at him and kept walking. Luke noticed and elbowed me teasingly, but I don't think that made Dylan any happier. I just kept walking and smiling. We got to the office and I turned in the paper, then Luke and I went to make copies.
