Chapter 4. Carnival Love

Y/N's P.O.V

       We are going to a carnival because Star thinks we all need some fun. We were in Star's tiny car. Jaime was all the way to the right, Damian was by me, and Gar was on the other side of me being crammed by the window and us. To make it even more crammed, Damian brought his sword. And Raven called the front. What a-

  Gar then pushed me, since the car was so crammed, I was now in Damian's lap. He glared at Gar and sat me back by him. My face was flushed so I turned my head and glared at Gar. He just smirked and snickered.

    We then arrived at the carnival. I then turned my head as I heard Jaime and Damian were fighting. Damian accidentally hit Jaime with his sword. I rolled my eyes and sighed.

  "Aah! Dude, did you have to bring the sword?" Jaime complained. Damian then glared at Jaime, still holding his sword and saying,"Preparedness is a prerequisite for victory." Star and Raven then turned around and looked at Damian. "The gear stays in the car, Damian. Tonight we are enjoying mandatory fun." Starfire cheerfully said and got out of the car. I smiled and quickly got out of the car to breath and actually have my personal space back. I saw Damian put his sword on one of the seats and get out of the car. I smiled at him and he lightly smiled then looked away. 

  I saw wearing some ripped shorts and a red, black, plaid long sleeved shirt, then some converse. I had my hair pulled into two french braids. I had mascara on and winged eyeliner. I felt like I looked good. I looked at Damian and smiled as he didn't pay attention. We then got our tickets and went inside the carnival. We all then stopped in a group and started to conversate.

"This is a opportunity for us to become more familiar with each other." Star said and walking off as we followed. Jaime then sarcastically said,"How much more familiar can we get? We've already seen Garfield lick himself." Everyone made a disgusting face as the horrible memory flashed back, "As a dog?" Damian asked. I shook my head and said,"I wish. It was horrible." Damian made a disgusted face as I giggled at his reaction. 

      We all then rode the ferris wheel. Jaime was with Gar, I was with Damian, and Raven was with Star. I was lightly shaking from the height. I'm not a huge fan of ferris wheels... Damian must've noticed cause he put his hand on my shoulder. I blushed as he did too. I lightly grabbed his hand and held it. He didn't let go, he just kept holding it.

     I was hanging out with Damian as I noticed one of those funny mirrors behind him. I laughed as he asked what I pointed behind him as he smirked at me. He then looked behind him and saw he had a big round butt. I kept laughing, he then smirked at me and pointed to the mirror in front of me. It made me have a huge head. I laughed and danced around as the mirror mimicked my moves but made me wider. Damian chuckled at my goofiness. 

    We then played ring toss. I played it with Damian and Beast Boy. I threw all 3 of them at one time. Beast Boy didn't throw so Damian went. He threw 6, and all 6 of them made it. I looked at him surprised and clapped. He smirked as the others were surprised. I guess Batman is really good at training.

     I then went to the prize booth with Damian. He got a blue sword that glowed in the dark, which was blue. He looked at it pitifully. I smiled reassuringly as he shook his head. He nodded then noticed a little girl staring at his toy sword in amazement. Damian looked at her and handed it to her. The girl gladly took it and smiled as she ran off to her parents. I then smirked at Damian and said,"So you do have a soft side?" He playfully punched my shoulder and said,"Whatever, L/N." I snickered and walked away with Damian. 

   I then got some cotton candy as Damian and I shared the same drink. "Damian, do you want some?" He looked at it then at me and took a piece of it and ate it. His face was filled with disgust. "That tastes like pure sugar." I giggled and said,"Why yes, Wayne. It is. And it's good." He shook his head and slightly chuckled. I took a bite out of the pure sugar as he watched me. I laughed while covering my mouth.

   He was about to say something till we were interrupted by music and Star calling us over. We then got up and went over to Star and Raven. Then watched Gar and Jaime play a dance competition game. I looked at Damian, he just shrugged. 

    So we walked closer to Star and Raven and watched Gar and Jaime. I could tell Jaime was losing. They did all these cool dance moves until Jaime finally lost. Beast Boy started bragging about how "amazing" he is. I rolled my eyes and stayed close to Damian.

     Jaime tiredly walked over to us sweating and panting."Free popcorn to anyone who can slay the beast." Jaime said out of breath. "I can do it." Damian said confidentially. "I didn't know Bird boy could dance." I said jokingly. He then started to walk up there and saying,"I'm a quick study, L/N." I giggled and cheered for Damian.

   The dance battle began. Gar took the lead as Damian was a little behind. He was off beat. I cheered for Damian, he looked over and he was slightly blushing but he nodded. He then quickly started catching up to Gar. Their feet moved in sync. He was doing extremely better than Gar. Determination filled Damian's face. Gar looked a little shocked and tired. I clapped and cheered for Damian. Soon all four of us, Star, Jaime, Raven, and I moved closer to watch the dance battle.

    I then noticed Raven pushing through the crowd. She then was walking up on the hill so I decided to follow her. 

     I watched from afar, there were 3 demons that were shooting at her and a figure of her father, Trigon. Yes I knew of him and her visions. She had her purple force field around her. I quickly ran to her as I then created a army of knights who were quickly taken out. I looked shocked then I started shooting at them with my Hex-bolts. "Another girl? Much more fun, and she has powers as well and a bit of chaos in that little head." A voice said, where you could only see it's four red flowing eyes in the night sky. 

     "Leave her out of this!" Raven yelled. I looked at Raven then at the  eyes. Raven then pulled me into her barrier. "Who's your friends?" I asked. She glared at me and started to concentrate. She said her chant as they all were eliminated including Trigon. I sighed as Raven was still expecting something. She kept looking around.

    The three demons came back to life, rising from the ground, and started shooting at the barrier. I couldn't use my magic or I would hurt Raven so I had to stay back. I looked at her worryingly. But she kept trying to focus. The three demons kept staying stuff but I didn't care. Raven was running out of energy. Soon her barrier disappeared and we were blasted off the hill. 

Damian's P.O.V

     I lightly smiled as my side of the screen was buzzing and flashing "winner". I won the match. Everyone in the crowd cheered and clapped for me. I scanned around the crowd to find Y/N. I didn't even see her. I quickly got off the stage as Jaime and Star showered me in compliments. I looked over and saw a tired Garfield that could barely walk. I shook my head. I was about to ask question about Y/N, but it was already answered.

    Screams erupted from the crowd, as roars echoed from the background. Civilians began running and screaming all over the place. All four of us saw two figures land on the rocky dirt. 

  We ran closer to see what happened and who it was. It was Y/N and Raven. Y/N held Raven on her shoulder, Raven was close to being unconscious. Y/N was struggling. They were both surrounded by red creature things. 

   I ran off to get my sword and my costume. All Y/N has to do is wait for me. I'll be there in a soon. 

I won't let anything happen to her. I vow my heart, soul, and body, that nothing shall harm her.
