He didn't get much good quality sleep over the weekend. Both nights were full of non-stop tossing and turning , sitting up in bed thinking of his parents hours at a time, and failed attempts at trying to strain himself to sleep. If he added the amount of time he actually slept between Saturday and Sunday it would probably only come up as one or two hours in total. Throughout both nights he could hear some of the other kids sneaking around out in the hall, running up and down the stairs. He even saw Emma open his room door with a flashlight shining in her face. She saw him in bed lying wide awake while she made silly faces in the stream of light. When Evander turned his head and saw her she chuckled then gently shut the door before wondering off with the others sneaking around. They must do this shit every night, he thought.

Something else that bothered him for the past couple nights were pairs of glowing red eyes appearing off and on in almost every area of the dark room. It returned once again. His clone wasn't grinning during those nights surprisingly. Through the brief moonlight shining through his window he could see his clone's emotionless face, staring at him without a blink. This is the biggest reason why he couldn't get any sleep. He didn't feel comfortable closing his eyes and going into an unconscious state with some crazed version of himself laying eyes on him. He tried turning his back on the clone and falling asleep. Didn't work. He could still feel the eyes watching him no matter how hard he tried to ignore it. He would keep his back turned staring at the wall for minutes, hoping the strange being would be gone when he turned around again. Nope. Every time he only turned turned to see it still glaring at him while standing somewhere else in the room. Sometimes it would be standing in front of his door or in the pitch black opened closet across from his bed. At other times he'd turn to see it standing right over him, being only centimeters out of reach. Every time it got that close Evander pulled the covers over his head like a child, with an intense urge to scream and run out of the room. But he controlled himself and didn't give in.

"Let it out," his clone would boom, in that demon-like voice.

It was said repeatedly almost non-stop all night long. The same thing it told him in the mirror. Evander became frustrated because he couldn't figure out what it was trying to tell him. He covered his ears so he wouldn't have to hear it anymore. The fuck is he talkin' about? He wondered, holding the sheets tight over his head as the clone stared down at him.

Monday morning felt very different to him. Ms. Sparks bought Evander a bus pass over the weekend and then he took the city bus to school for the first time. On the way there he had to ride all over the city as the driver picked up other people and students who went to Night Wolf High. One of the stops looked very familiar. He recognized it right away. It was the street he used to walk down everyday to get to school. The driver was picking up Betty and Angelica. That feeling in his gut occurred when Angelica walked in front of him. It appears he got the same bus he used to see other people catch everyday when he walked down there. Betty looked surprised when she spotted Evander seated in the back of the bus. They both glared at each other for a few seconds before Betty took a seat next to Angelica.

When he arrived at school and stepped off the bus, a lot of the kids in the yard seemed to be looking at him as he made his way to the school building. He was surprised at how sympathetic some of the faces seemed.

In the cafeteria Lace was waiting for him at one of the tables near the entrance. When Lace saw Evander walking in he instantly hopped up and rushed over to him.

"Dude me and my dad know what happened last friday," Lace says, looking down at the floor in sadness, "we saw the news. Sorry for your loss man. My dad says you're free to drop by anytime, and if you need anything just call us."
