"Cain wake up." I say gently, the sky still dark with only hints of purple and pink reminding me that the sun will rise in about a hour's time.
Cain groans nuzzling further into my side. "Five minutes Rain." He says sleepily and I can't help but mentally 'aww' at how adorable he looks now.
His black hair falling against his face and his worry leaving him. "Sorry babe but we've got to leave today." I say tugging his hair upwards and his eyes shoot open. "Shit I overslept." He says with a groan getting up from the bed and I frown at the sudden departure.
It was so nice sleeping next to him. I sigh following him to the bathroom. I brush my teeth and yawn. I only fell asleep after Cain fell asleep last night.
I remember how devastated Cain was last night about his brother and I knew I could pull a few strings. Someone owes me a favour... and I knew just how to manipulate his decision.
"Cain." I say getting his attention. "Don't wait up when we get to Lakewood. I've got somewhere to be. I'll be back at about 4 tommorow morning." "Where are you going?" Cain asks curiously and I smile.
"To do what I do best." I say grinning and he huffs. "Just be careful kitten." I melt a little at him actually caring about me. "I'm a tiger Cain. I can take care of myself." I wink.
He huffs. "Still doesn't mean I like it." My face looks like a cat with cream. "Are you... worried about little ol' me?" I say a hand against my mouth dramatically.
He rolls his eyes. "Against popular belief I actually have a heart Rain." My eyes lose a little shine. "I know but that's just what happens when they're scared." I say softly. "They try to find a reason why you are the way you are."
He nods stiffly and I can tell it's going to take some time for him to accept that he can't control everything... however much he wants to.
I pack the little belongings I have and Cain does the same as we drive to the airport in silence.
My phone rings loudly the sound of Starley's Call On Me filling the tiny space. I pinch my nose picking up the phone.
"Chase. What do you want?" "Raina it's Rafael." "Yeah." I answer. "Give the phone to Cain." I huff giving the phone to Cain.
"Yeah." He says casually one hand on the wheel and another on the phone. "What do you mean 'demand'?" Cain's anger grows visibly and his knuckles whiten on the wheel. "Tell him I said hell no." Rafe says something else and Cains voice is deadly. "Shoot him in the leg and give him the phone." I hear the echo of the gun through the phone. "Fuck it Cain! Where is she?!" I hear the familiar voice and I gasp.
Fuck, I forgot about Nicholas. "That's none of your business." Cain spits out over the phone and my eyes harden. "Give me the phone Romero." "No Chase. He has to learn that he can't fuck with me and expect nothing to happen!" Cain clenches his jaw.
I sigh, "Just give me the phone Cain. I don't want to fight." Cain ignores me and drops the phone into his pocket. "Well Rain it seems like we're fighting." He says sarcastically and I glare at him not responding.
We pull up at my jet and Cain grabs the keys from the pilot. "Sir... you can't... " "I'm qualified." Cain interrupts shoving a license under his nose. "Get in the back Chase."
I storm into the back seat and Cain straps himself and I in properly before flying to Lakewood Falls.
Well there goes my plans for tonight.
But I guess it wouldn't hurt to pay Ethan's bar a visit. I am a little behind on the latest news.
We drive to my house in tense silence. Cain's still angry at me for not listening to him but I guess that's what he gets for liking a bad girl.
I slam the door walking into my house and Cain drives off not even waiting for a goodbye. He's still angry as fuck
It's been so long since I've last been here. Everything exactly the same way I've left it. Ethan cleared out my house last week already and I'm amazed at his gang's efficiency in cleaning.
I check my email only to find a lot of shit went down while I was gone.
Shit. This is becoming a huge clusterfuck. I grab Percy's keys locking up the house and I practically run to my bike.
I can't... no. I WON'T believe it until I've seen it with my own eyes. I speed down the road to the rustic bar.
I walk inside with a growl and a pissed off expression on my face. "Someone call York!" I shout and the bar drifts into a scared silence as someone leaves the room.
Ethan comes out with a worried expression on his face. "Rainie... " He trails off. "I didn't know."
I ground my teeth, you can only lie for so long before your lies catch up to you.
"Bullshit." I seethe and Ethan gulps looking around the room. "Can we continue this conversation elsewhere? Please?" His eyes darting around the room.
"Hell to the FUCK no!" I say deadly serious. "What did you do Ethan?"
"How the fuck is my father not dead?"
