Chapter 2

2- Hak and Hikaru

Their fingers were gently placed on the wooden peice as the circled the board asking questions.

"Are there any spirits here?" Kuroda said as they stopped the circling in the middle.

The peice moved to 'yes' as they shook their heads to make sure each other knew either of them were doing it.

"How many demons or spirits are there?" Mai asked as she glanced at Kuroda's nervous face

The peice moved to '2'. They looked at each other and Mai nodded to Kuroda.

"I'm Kuroda and that's my friend Mai. What are your names?"

The piece moved to the letters spelling the first name 'H A K' and the second one 'H I K A R U'.

"Are you both male's?" Mai asked.

The peice moved to 'yes'.

"How old are you both exactly?" Kuroda asked.

The peice moved to the numbers '17' and '18'.

"Is it ture that demons are able to make contracts?" Mai asked.

The peice moved to 'yes'. As Mai and Kuroda were looking at each other, they quickly looked down when they felt a tug and read the words out.

"'Do you wanna make a contract'?" They both read surprised.

Kuroda looked to Mai and nodded.

"Yes, I'd love to. How about you, Mai?" She asked.

What if he try to kill me? Or if he tries to kill anyone apart of SPR? Thought.. he might know how to control my PK.. She thought.

"Sure. I accept." She replied with a smile.

The peice began to move spelling the words, "Where do you want the seal?"

"On the left side if my neck please" Kuroda said.

"On my *thinks of the anime Black Butler* right eye" Mai said quickly.

Before anything else they soon passed out, not knowing what had happened.

Mai woke up slowly to the smell of bacon, eggs, and earl grey tea. She opened her eyes to see Kuroda looking at her beside her.

"Did you make breakfast?" Mai asked, rubbing her eyes.

Kuroda followed her actions but with a yawn. She shook her head.

"Nope. Just woke up" she replied.

Then, two boys walked in with breakfast. The first boy had brown hair and green eyes and the other boy had black hair and gold eyes.

"Who are you" Mai asked slowly with a bit of fear.

"I'm Hak and that one is Hikaru." The black haired boy said, pointing to the other boy.

"Wait! Your.. the demons from that ouija board!" Kuroda exclaimed, pointing to them.

Now that you think about it, their names are the same as the ouija board had said and they look the exact age as we were told.. Mai thought, looking at them.

"Oh and Mai.. you might want to check your eye out" Kuroda said, pointing to my right eye.

Mai stood up and looked in the mirror beside her bed to see her eye now blue with the seal a darker blue. The seal matched the witchcraft symbol but had a word in Latin. Mai turned to Kuroda and pointed to her neck and gasped.

"You have one too!" She exclaimed.

Kuroda got out of bed and moved her hair to see the same seal as Mai's but purple.

"Are.. these contract seals?" Kuroda asked the demons.

They nodded and took their gloves off to reveal the same symbol but in black and had no Latin words.

"You might want to hide the marking at all times so no one can see it. If they do, they'll try to kill you" Hikaru said, handing Kuroda a choker and Hak handing Mai a medical eye patch.

"Wear these. They'll hide the marking." Hak told them, with a small smile.

Mai and Kuroda nodded. Kuroda put the choker on and Mai put the eye patch on. Mai adjusted her hair with a smile.

"Thanks" they said in sync.

The demons just nodded and handed them their breakfast. The eggs were eyes and the bacon was stacked as a mouth. And ketchup as a tiny blush.

"You guys are creative!" Kuroda said clapping her hands together.

Mai nodded. "She's right you guys are truly creative!"

The demons smiled and nodded. Mai and Kuroda began to eat and talk about Mai's old job.

"Had Naru returned yet?" She asked as she drank her tea.

"No... still in England." Mai replied, bitting into her bacon.

"Will Hak leave you, knowing you hunt ghosts?" Kuroda asked.

"Hopefully not.."

"You hunt ghosts?" Hak asked from behind her, making her and Kuroda jump a bit in surprise.

"Well.. use to.." Mai replied.

"Oh, I see. I find it interesting that my mistress hunts ghosts.." Hak said a bit childishly.

"When Naru left, he disbanded SPR. So.. I haven't been on a ghost case in 3 years."

"Call up someone off of your old team"

"Why?"

"We're going ghost hunting!!!" He said excitedly.

He may be 17 but he sure is a child on the inside. Mai thought giggling.

"Ok, Kuroda. Your coming too! Bring Hikaru!" I shouted like a child.

Kuroda sighed with a pale face and nodded. Mai grabbed her phone and called up Monk.

"Hey Mai! Need help?" He asked as if her PK was the reason she was calling.

"Kind of. I need a case. A ghost to send back." She replied with a bored voice.

"Is someone going with you?" He asked.

"Two professionals and a novice. Then me, who's experienced."

"Who are the professionals and novice?"

"The professionals are Hak and Hikaru and the novice is Kuroda."

"The girl from the first case we did at your school?"

"Yep. Anyways, got any?"

"Well.. there is one near you. The client is Anne Izumi. She claims to hear shouting and when that happens the doors slam shut and the lights turn off. When they turn on she hears whispering and there's writing on the wall saying 'Leave Now'."

"We'll take it! What's the address?"

"4071 Quinta Drive"

"Ok thanks!"

Mai then explained everything to them hoping they'd all understand; which they did.

"Ok. Hikaru will go with his mistress, Kuroda and I'll go with you!" Hak said, hugging Mai's shoulders from the side.

Mai just smiled and patted his arm.

"So when should we go?" Kuroda asked.

"Today!" Mai and Hak exclaimed childishly with a big smile.

Hikaru and Kuroda laughed and they all began to pack up.
