3- The Haunted Mansion
Once they stepped in, the aura was so spooky! The mansion was wonderful, but the feeling is just.. unsteady. Hak and Hikaru had narrow eyes as they looked at the mansion.
"These spirits are strong; well, as far as spirits go." Hikaru stated.
Hak nodded, agreeing with his demon friend. Mai and Kuroda stayed by their demons sides. A girl with deep Ash grey hair and brown eyes answered the door with a smile of relief.
"Hello, Anne Izumi, correct?" Mai asked. She nodded.
"We're a group of ghost hunters. I'm Mai Taniyama and this is Kuroda, Hak and Hikaru, others who assisted me. We're here for the case" Mai said, bowing politely.
Anne smiled happily and opened the door wide for them to come in.
"Thank you so much for coming! I was worried you had turned down my case!" She said, leading them into the living room.
"So, what we heard is that you have been hearing screaming and then lights flicker. Once they stop flickering they shut off then turn back on with writing on the walls saying, 'get out' and 'Leave now', correct?" Mai asked her.
She nodded then added, "not only that, but there's writing that says--"
She was soon inturrupted by screaming and the lights flickering, then turning off. Mai buried her face into whoever's chest was closest. The lights came back on with writing on the walls saying 'make them leave' and 'We'll hurt them too'.
Mai looked up to see Hak blushing slightly at his mistress' actions. Mai had a red face and sat up straight.
"Do you sense anything?" Mai asked the demons.
"4 spirits" they said in unison.
"That's too many for you guys to handle. I'll find other ghost hunters in the area." Anne said. "I'm the mean time, your room isn't to far. 3rd room to the left down the hall"
They all nodded and thanked her as they went to the room. Kuroda and Mai shared a bed while the other two shared the other. Mai took out a book and continued to draw a lily pad in the water.
"Wow, your good Mai" Kuroda said, catching the eyes of Hak and Hikaru.
They looked and began to give her compliments. Mai smiled at them and thanked them.
"I think I'm gonna head to bed. We have a big day tomorrow." Mai said.
She laid down and curled into a ball under the covers. Kuroda layed down next to Mai. The demons went to the next bed beside the other.
It was now morning. The sun is shinning, birds are singing, and Mai is freaking out. All in their room, on their walls, was words saying 'Get out'. Mai shook Kuroda awake as the boys also woke up.
" Holy crap!" Kuroda exclaimed, looking at the walls.
Hak and Hikaru grabbed Mai and Kuroda into a tight embrace as a negative energy began to form. Mai began to get less scared and more protective of her friends and herself.
A spirit appeared and it looked as if it was a man and 4 children. They all had dark auras around them."Leave now, ghost hunters" he spoke.
Mai's determined eyes became a little frightened. His voice was echo - like and very deep. With that and his dark aura, it was quite scary. Hak's grip tightened on Mai as Hikari glared at the ghost.
"Why are you wanting us to leave?" Mai asked the ghost, more like shouted.
"Because- you shouldn't know. Now leave!" He spoke, then left without a trace.
"Wow, that was weird. He was gonna tell us but then decided not to.. weird." Kuroda said as Hikaru and Hak let Kuroda and Mai go.
"I find it weird that he had 4 children with him. I wander if they mean anything to him" Mai added to the suspicion.
"His aura is weirder then normal trapped spirits. It was more..." Hikaru said, ting to find a word to describe the aura.
"Gloomy and strong" Hak finished.
Hikaru snapped his fingers and had shimmery eyes with an 'o' mouth. Apparently Hak was spot on. Mai sat down with a stressed sigh.
"This won't be as easy as we thought it would've been, eh?" She asked them.
They nodded with mixed feelings; Stressed, tiredness, and a bit of fear. Anne opened the door and walked in to see the sight.
"Oh my! It happened again!" She exclaimed, covering her mouth in shock and fear.
Mai walked over and hugged her. She stroked her hair, comforting her as mush as she could.
"We'll solve this as soon as we can, don't worry." Mai told her.
Anne nodded into Mai's neck and hugged her a little tightly. Her hands and arms were shaking.
'She must be so scared' Mai thought, looking down at Anne's shaking arms and hands.
After they pulled apart, Mai turned to Hak and Hikaru, asking a favor. "Can you guys get some gear? Computers, night vision camera, mics, temp. monitor, please?"
They nodded and ran out. Mai looked at Kuroda.
"This is gonna get dangerous Kuroda. I need you to stay with Hikaru at all times. After all, he is your demon" Mai teased, winking at a now red Kuroda.
"Mai!!!" Kuroda squealed.
Anne giggled at the sight. She thought when Mai said 'demon', she had meant he was a crazy badass. Mai turned to Anne with a smile.
"Anne, I'll need you to stay safe. I learned a few tricks with my PK so here." Mai said, forming her hands into a gun and shot a ball of PK at her necklace.
The PK ball went into her necklace, causing it to glow a faint ghostly blue. Anne looked at her necklace with wide eyes.
"That will protect you for 5 days. Then, the PK will wear out and return back into my body. No spirits can possess you or hurt you. Your safe now" Mai said with a soft smile.
Anne hugged her and kept continued saying, "thank you" over and over again with tears of joy streaming down her face. Mai began to feel weak from using her PK for once outside of her nightmares. She fell to her knees with her eyes closing as Anne and Kuroda began to panic.
"Mai!" They shouted.
That was the last thing Mai heard until falling asleep.
