Last night

Chapter 2

I grabbed her phone, my stomach churning.

I knew I wasn't far from home but I still couldn't work out why I was there.

I had to keep up a brave face though, in front of this girl, I couldn't let her see me with even a glimmer of doubt.

I typed in James number, cheekily adding it to her contacts and texting her number to my phone.... for if I ever found it.

What! I might need to, you know, chat with her some time.

I dialled and put the phone to my ear, tapping my foot impatiently.

"Hello?"

"James! Hey it's me Brad. I'm ringing off of...." I pulled my ear away and covered the speaker.

"What's your name sorry?" I asked her grinning.

"Ummm.... Amy." she muttered nervously.

I put the phone back up to my ear.

"Yeah.. James.. I'm calling off of Amy's phone." I said brightly.

"Amy...?"

"Yep, she's stunning I swear, and she's all over me. It's great out here." I said loudly smirking, I knew she could hear.

I glanced in her direction to see her shocked expression, she was blushing cutely.

"How hot?" I heard James ask laughing.

"Very! But that's not the point, the point is I'm stuck in Burnley with no phone and no jacket. Please come get me." I whined childishly.

"You've been out all night, did you do The Deed with this Amy girl? You naughty devil Braddy!"

"Umm.. No no I didn't." I said embarrassed, feeling myself blush scarlet.

"So what road are you on?" James sighed.

"Vernon Road I think." I muttered still mad with James' previous comment.

"Ok will be there in 20 minutes, try not to move around!" he laughed and I stiffened again.

I ended the call and handed back her phone.

I knew she would just leave now, to go our separate ways, because there was no reason for her to hang around now she had her phone.

She doesn't know me.

"He's coming to pick me up in 20 minutes." I said scratching my head awkwardly.

"Ok cool...." she said darting her eyes to the way she came from.

"Umm would you mind you know waiting with me?" I said shyly.

"I....i dunno. I don't really know you..." She hesitated.

"But I really want to get to know you!" I said quickly. "come on.... I'm alone in a town I don't recognise with no phone.... and no fweind!"

I fake cried childishly and she giggled.

"Ok. As long as you don't try to kidnap me or something.." she said jokingly, yet she looked genuinely worried.

"I won't.." I laughed. "So tell me about yourself.

I tried to walk back to sit on the wall behind me.

I tripped and fell into the floor.

Smooth.

I totally forgot my feet are tied together....
