Chapter 5
I turned towered Damon, he was growling loudly. He looked at me and nodded his head we could do this! The first two jumped towered me thinking I am weak, but they are wrong. Doing nothing but running your whole life really strengthens you up.
I have trained and fought with wolves while running. So when the big wolf jumped at me I was ready. I dodged to the side with time to spare so I stuck my claws out while he went sailing past me and got his shoulder. The other one was eyeing me now, I looked over and Damon was winning the fight between the two other wolves.
I jumped towered the one that was eyeing me because he wasn’t expecting it. I didn’t just fly into him; he is bigger than me and probably would not budge. So I raced passed him and turned at the last second, he thought I was going to run away and leave Damon to take them all on, I don’t think so!
When I turned I bit into his neck as deep as I could. I could have crushed his windpipe, but I was feeling gracious today and let him live. I held him until the lack of oxygen to the brain made him pass out, but before he did he thrashed at me and caught my ear. Now I had a slight slit in the tip of my ear I could feel it.
I turned and just in time, the other one was barreling my way. I ran back a bit, teasing him. Then he got tired of playing and jumped for my throat, completely ready to kill me. This made me act fast; I jumped over him as he ducked for my throat.
I dug my claws into his back and held on for dear life. He started shaking and trying to get me of him so I turned swiftly and bit the back of his neck, I wanted to knock him out so I dropped underneath of him and duck against his back.
My fox was not happy with my decision and did not like being under the enemy wolf. I lunged before he looked down and bit into his neck as well. He couldn’t do much but roll over and try to shake me, but I was attached and even after he lost conciseness I had a hard time letting go.
I felt a wolf nudge me with his nose, telling me to let go. So I did but the fox in me was still pumped with adrenalin and turned towered the wolf that had taken our kill away and growled at the wolf. Then I noticed it was Damon, I stopped growling immediately.
That was weird; normally it took my fox a long time to calm down. When I looked at him I calmed almost immediately. I turned and ran towered the end of the territory, Damon following me. When we were out, I turned to Damon.
I had been luckier than him; I had got a few cuts and scratches. He had a deep cut going down his chest and cutting into his stomach. He turned and ran into a cave, to change. I just rolled over and changed into human form I waited but he didn’t come out right away.
“Hello,” I yelled.
There was no reply so I ventured in. I looked over and seen Damon there almost unconscious. He was really tired, I was glad he had enough energy to put on his shorts before I came in here though.
“Are you okay?” I asked holding up his chin.
“Yes,” He replies softly.
I looked him over and it was worse than I thought, the cut was deep and he was losing blood fast. A rational part of my brain told me that he was a werewolf and a vampire, he would heal fast. It was just so scary looking my mind didn’t think of that, I grabbed some leaves I knew had healing properties.
I ran back and wrapped up his chest rubbing an ointment I made onto it. He gasped in his sleep when it touched his cut, I guess it stung. Then I let my hand trail over his abs longer than need. I wrapped him up and he started moving.
I pushed down on his shoulders not wanting him to open the cut again, but when he pulled the leaves off it was healing way faster than I would have imagined.
“Good thing I put the ointment on so it didn’t get infected,” I said smugly.
“My vampire blood would have frightened it off for me but thanks,” he replied.
I looked and it was just a scar now. Man he healed fast, I healed fast but not that fast. Then he looked over at me, and his eyes dilated and his eyes went red. I looked at him startled.
“I need food,” he growled.
I gasped; I had seen vampires before do almost the same thing. Around his eyes had become dark, but I didn’t shy away like I should have. Then the next second he was on top of me pinning me down.
“You smell so good,” he whispered in my ear.
I was too shocked to kick out or scream, but truth is I didn’t really want to. My fox loved this; she wanted him to bit us now. She pushed me forward making any space between us nonexistent. I grabbed his neck and pulled him to me when he wasn’t expecting it, I mean I wasn’t even expecting it either.
I pulled him down to me and looked up into his eyes, somehow I liked the way red looked on him just as much as the green. Then our lips met and it was just me and him in the world. I pulled him tighter and kissed him deeper.
He kissed back, getting used to the feeling of being kissed, and he mastered it fast. The next second he was wrapping my legs around him, and I held on tight. Then he picked us up in warp speed, and next thing I know my back crashed into a tree. I let out a surprised gasp, and he took advantage of it. He moved slipped his tongue in with mine and I started to enjoy it more.
Then all of a sudden he was gone.
