A few hours after the game, my friends and I got to the Kappa Phi Party. Only one problem though. We'd been waiting in line for a very, long time.
"I can't believe we're still waiting to get in!" I exclaimed in annoyance. "Is this line even moving?"
"Unbelievable. Those girl dragged Chris inside, and we're stuck out here waiting in line like... like non-VIPs!" Kaitlyn said with force, crossing her arms.
"We are non-VIPs." Abbie told her.
"You're totally a VIP, Abbie!"said Tyler, trying to flirt. "But... I am starting to regret coming here."
"Are we really the type of people who scurry back to our dorm at the first sign of trouble?" Zack said, aghast at the emotional weakness and self-doubts clouding the group.
"No, but that one guy on the football team is guarding the door, and he has a list!" Tyler said.
"So?" Kaitlyn asked.
"Well, if I had to guess, I'd say we're not on it."
"As far as I'm concerned, we belong at the top of every list."Zack said with a smirk. "We're getting into this party ASAP, before those harpies get their hands all over Mia's man."
"I never said Chris was 'mine'!" I said.
"Right, right... no labels."
"Are you even listening to me? Chris and I are just friends!" I was growing more frustrated. Why wouldn't they just get out of their fantasizing and listen to me?
Well. Maybe they knew me more than I thought. Who was I really trying to convince, deep down?
"So... let's make sure your friend doesn't end up dating some evil sorority girl
"We've got to do this for the sake of the suite!" Kaitlyn said. "Can you imagine what our live are gonna be like if Chris has one of those vapid social climbers over all the time?"
"They say that suffering helps forge great art... but I don't need my art to be that good!"
Abbie said."We can't have that!" cried out Tyler. "We can't let Chris date those girls!"
"Well, yeah..." I said. "For Chris's own sake, we need to get him out of here
"Abbie, Mia... let's go." Kaitlyn said.
"Say what?" Zack exclaimed. "You're leaving me and Tyler behind?"
"Sorry guys... but this is the sad reality."
Kaitlyn said with a sympathetic look. "Cute girls always get into parties. Guys have to wait.""But this is a sorority party! If anything, guys should have an easier time getting in!"
"You are so not making sense right now."
"What do you think, Mia?" Zack asked me.
"Sorry guys, I'm gonna have to go with Kaitlyn."
"Yay!" squealed Kaitlyn. "Good choice!"
"Ugh. Fine. See you inside." said Zack reluctantly.
Kaitlyn, Abbie and I approached the front of the line, where a football player barred the door to the house. I recognized Logan as the... well, "guardian"'s a way to put it, right?
"Hold on, girls. Are you on the list?" he asked us.
"Yeah." said Kaitlyn. "We're listed under 'Girls'. First name 'Hot'."
Logan gave us a half-smile.
"Yep. 'Hot girls'. There you are, right at the top. Head on in."
We headed inside, and Kaitlyn leaned her arm on my shoulder.
