Shayne's POV

I woke up, feeling a weight lift off me. When I opened my eyes, all I saw was the door shut behind someone. The bed was still warm. The memories of last night flooded back to me. I talked to (Y/n) all night.

I remember how warm inside I felt when she smiled. I loved the way she talked, and how her hair bounced cutely when she walked, and how she always had that energetic sparkle in her eyes. I closed my eyes and let the memories take over.

I opened them a minute later and sat up. (Y/n) must have slept here last night. I scanned the room. Everyone was here. Wait, there an empty bunk bed. I counted the people here. Sohinki, Wes, Flitz, David, Matt Raub, Joe, and Sunny. But that meant Joven was gone. And (Y/n).

I got up quickly and walked toward the door, opening it slowly so I didn't wake anyone. As I closed it behind me, I heard familiar voices.

"What is this about?"

"Ssh! Talk quieter, someone will hear us!"

I looked around. It seemed like they were behind the cabins. I walked around them and hid behind a tree. I looked up. It'd probably be easier to hide in the tree. I climbed up it about halfway. I peered through the branches. I could see (Y/n) and Joven sitting next to each other, leaning against the cabins. I felt the familiar feeling of jealousy rising.

I could hear them more clearly up here. "It's not like it matters how loud we talk, no one else is awake. But seriously, if this is about the same thing again..." (Y/n) said, getting frustrated. "Actually, it kind of... is." Joven said nervously, looking at the ground. She sighed, "You told me last time that this was over. We can't just keep doing this, what about Kate?" Joven paused. "...What she don't know won't hurt her?" He suggested, slowly. (Y/n)'s head whipped toward him. "That's wrong and you know it!" She hissed. "I know, but if this is the last time, then we have nothing to worry about." He argued. "You said it was the last time the past four times we've done this!" She said. "When will you just quit it? Kate loves you, and I know you love her, too. I'm just me. What could I possibly have that Kate doesn't?" She added.

Joven put his finger on her chin and turned her head toward his. "You're you." He said, getting close. She blushed and looked down. They looked cute together, and that's what pained me. I could see them being in a relationship, and that's the problem. I felt tears well up in my eyes.

"Fine. This is the last time." She sighed, leaning in. Joven leaned in, too. The kiss went on for longer than I had expected. Was it more than a kiss? Was there feeling behind it, on both ends? I let the tears stream down my cheeks without bothering to wipe them. I leaded back against the tree and curled into a ball. Did she ever even love me? It felt like my trust in her was being washed away with the tears. Falling out, left there to dry on my sweater, then to be washed away eventually.

I looked back up and I noticed they were still kissing. Kissing. More like making out. I thought bitterly. I think (Y/n) realized what was happening and panicked. She pushed Joven off of her. She was outraged while Joven was in heaven. "That was the best one yet. Even though they all end the same way, the moment gets better. How about we make the next one even better?" He said, looking over at her. She just stared angrily at the ground, blushing furiously. Joven's cheeks were pretty red, too.

The fact that she didn't refuse killed me even more. I thought back to the waterpark. Did that kiss even mean anything to her? I thought she had the same feeling that I did. And when I had my hand on hers on the stairs, I saw that pink tint on her face. That couldn't have been for nothing. I sobbed quietly into my sweater. Some people would say crying make things better. But with every tear that fell, the worse I felt.

I practically heard my heart crack in my chest. Joven and (Y/n) went silent. Had it really been so loud that other people could've heard it? I felt myself sink slowly. I heard creaking a and more cracks from behind me. It was the tree branch. Joven and (Y/n) were going to see me like this.

The branch broke and I plummeted to the ground on top of the branch. I lay there, looking at the sky, I wasn't hurt, but I was dazed. Both from the situation, and from the fall. "Shayne!" (Y/n) yelled, surprised and concerned. "Are you okay? What were you doing in that tree?" She asked. I shot up. "I should be asking you the questions!" I yelled. She looked petrified. I noticed all the noise had attracted some other people. They were all watching, terrified. I didn't care at this point. I just wanted justice.

"What were you doing with Josh!?" I yelled, using his actual name. "I was just-" I cut her off. "You were just what? Falling in love?" I spat. Her cheeks turned pink which made me even angrier.

I pushed her aside and stormed toward Joven. "And you! You knew I loved her! Why are you doing this?" I asked. "You aren't the only one who loves her." He said, getting mad. "You don't love her nearly as much as I do." I said, softer, gritting my teeth menacingly. I balled my hand into a fist. I couldn't do that, Joven was still my friend. I let go and turned toward (Y/n). She was watching, absolutely petrified. All the anger just melted away to sadness. I felt fresh tears form. I cried knowing how my tears felt like acid burning through her skin. (Reference to a song, perhaps???)

I walked toward her slowly. The pain from falling was starting to hit me. I could barely choke out the words, "I thought you loved me."

(A/n)

Wow, that was long. And sad...
Also dramatic as hell. This is probably the longest chapter I've ever written. I can't guarantee all chapters will be this long, I just had a random bout of inspiration.

I'm sorry this has so much crying. This is probs super cheesy. Just let me know if it's too cheesy.
