I changed the ending of the last chapter a few hours after updating because I realized Josephine passes out a lot.

--

Josie cracked open an eye as she looked around. There bodies lying on the ground, dead or not Josie wasn't sure. Fire flickered up to the ceiling, smoke filled Josie's lungs. She felt heavy and weak and horrified.

Her ears were ringing, and as she pulled herself up, she noticed something alarming at the other end of the room. Nykos was holding a charred Luma. Luma was dead, nothing but burnt flesh. Luma was hysterically crying and Josie stood up on shaky feet.

"Luma! Luma please!" The Dark Fey cried out and clutched at her mate. The air in the room was electric, Josie noted some electric sparks in the black smokey clouds forming in the air. There was so much going on. What the hell just happened?

Someone grabbed Josie's wrist and she jumped in fright. It was only Eloise who looked completely panicked.

"She's going to snap, do you know when a Queen of Darkness snaps, Josie? We need to run, now!" Eloise shouted, cheeks stained with soot.

Josie looked back quickly as she took a hesitant step away. Black matter was forming around her, sucking warmth and light out of the room.

"What's happening!?" Josie shouted over the loud whirring and Oakley growled in frustration before grabbing Josie and yanking harshly.

"Something horrible," Eloise muttered. The room grew silent. Wind and screaming seizing and Oakley shouted loudly for the girls to get behind her as her wings outstretched. Nykos let out a horrified scream and a cold, emptiness rushed through the room. The lack of matter, the lack of everything, they were surrounded by nothingness.

Oakley screamed in pain as her body was shred to nothing. Eloise shrieked and huddled into her friend as Nykos shred her building to nothing. Black matter, black nothingness surrounded them and Josie could do nothing but stare at it all.

It stopped suddenly and light, fire, and screams returned. Josie looked over at Nykos who was ashes now. Every body in the room was ashes, Oakley was weak. Eloise and Josie caught her as she collapsed. Looking at the charred, burnt, and dying.

"We need to get out of here!" Eloise shouted as dust shook free and matted her hair from an explosion further down the building.

The two of them aided their savior through the smokey halls of the place that was once large and glorious and safe. Someone had wrecked this building and turned it to shambles.

As Eloise, Oakley, and Josie sprinted through the door they froze at the feeling of the frigid air against them and the smell of blood on their nose. The sound of snarls filled the empty air and snow slid down from the sky and coated the ground. Red covered the white and the image of a horrible war filled the peaceful scene.

"What the heck is going on!?" Eloise shouted frantically as a flaming catapult sprung through the door and a shook the building, the Temple. Women were fleeing from it like bees swarming from a hive.

There were two distinct wolves fighting. A large breed, one that Josie had seen a sketch in the Book of Wolf, and the red-eyed. Rogues. They were horrible, mean, random, and savage. Completely and totally mad these wolves were supposed to be lone, angry. This wasn't like what Josie had read in the books. This was out of character.

But that was the least of her concerns right now. If wolves were fighting Sinclair could be here.

"Josephine!" Someone shouted and Josie spun at the familiar voice. The tiny Feyling was ready to fight, but her body sagged instead.
