After the wolves all left to rough it out in the cold Josie's plan had set into action. She waited nervously in her room, meeting with people to ensure her plan would be successful. It wasn't until the blizzard settled in that Josephine's heart nearly stopped.
The weather was horrific and Sin was out there. He was leading his pack in this tundra climate, she'd be out there tomorrow night with him. The winds were unrelenting as icy breezes beat against the windows.
"Is he... are they going to be okay?" Josie asked Fin who was sitting and playing the PS4 while slurping a Capris Sun.
"Oh yeah," Fin nodded. "Our babes will be just fine, I promise. That wind is like a little breeze against their fur."
His words were calming, slightly. Josie just needed to see it to believe it.
"Are you prepared for the ritual tomorrow?" Fin asked her, in an attempt to distract her.
"Huh?" Josie turned, "Oh yes I believe I am. I'm very glad that we had an enchanted blanket..."
"Oh honey you'd be fine without it probably. You're a full immortal now but it would be painful I'll tell you that. The blanket will make you toasty warm- even in subzero temperatures. We also had Frieda put some of the fibers in that nightgown you requested- smart girl." Fin winked at her before cussing at the game he was playing.
Josie turned back to window, shivering as a loud howl echoed through the night.
Sinclair lowered his head after a loud howl. He paced around the clearing, his pack wolves were all curled in to protect themselves from the winter weather. It was a harsh night, and they were now trying to stay warm after tearing into their dinners: venison, hare, and another grizzly.
All Sinclair had was one instinct shouting at him from the corners of his mind.
Go back, Mate feyling. It was like a spell he was resisting, it took everything in him to stay away. There was solace in knowing that he would be returning a feast and tomorrow night he would be back in these woods mating her.
Every minute Sinclair felt his beast looking up to see if the sky was turning purple with sun up. He could return then and the sooner he returned to sooner Josephine would be claimed. It was the only thought that kept him sane.
Sinclair eyed Boone prancing in from the tree-line. He looked smug, suspicious. Sinclair growled low, a warning to his Beta. Boone only huffed in response before saddling in by the pack. As the wind blew harsher Sinclair looked into the white blistering gusts.
Soon, Josephine.
Josie didn't sleep that night. She spent most of it preparing for her mission the next night. But when everything was finally prepared Josie just waited by the back window and looked out. The maze stood ominously in the winter night.
