LILLY'S P.O.V AGE 9

I woke up with a scream as tears rolled down my face. Dad lifted his head and sighed. He walked over and laid down beside me. I hugged my father tightly and cried. "Shhh Lilly it was dream. Your ok." Dad whispers. I pull away and gently stroke dad's head. Dad leans into my hand making me giggle. "Thanks daddy." I whisper as dad smiles. I curl up next to dad as he gently lays his wing over me to keep me warm. I smile and snuggle closer to my father. I see a large scar on dad's side and gently run my hand over it. Dad meets my eyes. " what happened daddy?" I ask gently rubbing the scar. Dad sighs. "I got into a fight with my brother. He stabbed me where the scar is." Dad says as I hug dad tightly. "Why would he do that daddy? He hurt you." I say close to tears. Dad gently nudges me. "My brother was a very misunderstood person." Dad says as I look at him. "Did he look like you daddy?" I ask as dad shakes his head. "No he didn't." Dad says as I nod. "I couldn't stand the thought of someone hurting you daddy." I say with tears. Dad gently nudges me once more. "Shhh it's ok princess." Dad says as I hug him tightly. "Daddy will you tell a story of when you were a warrior?" I ask as dad nods. Dad thinks before starting. "How about one with your mother and me?" Dad asks as my eyes widen. I shake my head furiously as dad laughs. I gently stroke dad's head as dad laughs. "There was this one time where your mother pranked me." Dad says as I snigger. Dad smirks before continuing. "When I walked into my room a bucket fell from the top of the door and covered me in pink paint." Dad says as I burst out laughing. "Turns out the paint was mood changing. I got so mad I looked just like your grandfather." Dad says as I laugh harder. Dad laughs to. "But thinking back it was a pretty good prank." Dad says as I laugh even harder. Dad smirks before laying his head down. "What was mum like daddy." I ask as dad smiles. "She was amazing Lilly. Kind, beautiful and caring." Dad says as I smile. "I miss her so much daddy." I whisper as dad nudges me once more. "I know Lilly. I miss her to." Dad says sadly. "How did she die daddy?" I ask softly. Dad sighs. "My brother killed her." Dad says as my eyes widen. Tears roll down my face as dad sighs. I gently stroke his head. Dad smiles before curling up into a ball. I snuggle my way into dad's chest as dad smiles amusedly. Dad lays his wing over me as I smile. "Daddy will you ever be able to turn human again?" I ask as dad sighs once more. "I don't know princess. I don't know." Dad says sadly. A tear slips down dad's face as I gently wipe it away. "Don't cry daddy. I don't care if you can't turn human. I love you just the same. Nothing will ever change that daddy." I say. Dad smiles at me. "Thanks Lilly. You have no idea how much that means to me." Dad says nudging me gently. I gently kiss dad's head as dad smiles. "Good night daddy." I whisper laying my head down on dad's side. Dad smiles at me as sleep consumes me.

I open my eyes to see dad was missing I could hear shouts so I ran out. My eyes widen at the scene before me. I saw dad tied down with ropes and hooks. I watched as a man walked up to dad with a gun. "NO DADDY!" I shout as all the men turn. "Run..... Lilly." Dad chokes out. I run to my father and kneel beside him. I gently stroke dad's head as he groans in pain. Tears leave my eyes as the man looks at me. "Get away!" I shout standing up. The man laughs before grabbing my arm and throwing me across the ground. I groan in pain. Dad's eyes widen as he struggles harder. I could see wounds where the ropes cut into his skin. The man looks at me before going over to dad. He aims the gun at dad's head. "NO! LEAVE HIM ALONE! DADDY" I shout as I start to glow. The man looks at me as his eyes widen. I look at my hands before blasting the man back. He his a tree as another man runs to help him. I run to daddy. I hug him tightly before trying to get rid of the ropes. The man stands up and stalks over. I stand In front of my father. "Move little girl!" The man orders. "No! I won't let you hurt my daddy." I shout blasting him into a tree. It cracks and splinters. The man yells In pain as a large splinter of tree Impales him. "Paul!" Another man shouts looking at me. "Leave my daddy alone or I'll kill you to!" I shout. A orange beam shoots out of my hands and hits all the men. They freeze before letting go of the ropes and walking off. I glare at them before looking at the man. He was impaled in his shoulder. I walk over to him before yanking him off. He yells in pain. I rip his shirt before wrapping his wound. He weakly looks at me. "Why.... Why are you helping me?" He whispers. "Because you need it" I say as dad groans. I stop and run to my father. I yank the anchors out and drag the ropes off my father. My eyes widen at his wounds which were bleeding badly. I run back into the cave and grab some bandages. I run back out as the man slowly gets up. I gently as possible climb onto my father and look at his wounds. "Close your eyes daddy. This will hurt." I whisper before pouring alcohol on his wound. Dad holds back a yell. Tears leave my eyes as I do the same to his other wounds. Dad roars in pain as I rub the alcohol into his wounds. "I'm sorry daddy!" I whisper before stitching up his wounds. Dad yells in pain. I finish as dad pants painfully. I look around and see a Bosweillia plant. I run over and yank it out. I walk over to my father who groans in agony. "Dad eat this. It will help." I say as dad weakly opens his mouth. I put the plant in his mouth. Dad closes his mouth and chews the plant. I run and grab 6 more. Dad eats the plants as he slowly relaxes. I gently stroke dad's head as tears leave my eyes. I hug dad tightly and cry into his long neck. Dad does his best to comfort me but winces in pain. I give him another Bosweillia. "Dad we need to get yo in the cave. Can you move?" I ask. Dad tries to get up but fails badly. Dad grunts as he hits the ground. "Dad you have to move. The'll be back." I cr. the man slowly comes over. "Get back!" I cry. "Let me help. This is my fault. I'm sorry." He says as I look at dad. He meets my eyes and groans once more. "Let's make a sling." The man says as I run inside and grab dad's blanket. I run back out and spread the blanket out. The man helps me. "Dad can you get onto the blanket?" I ask gently. Dad groans and tries to but fails. "Dad I'm going to gently roll you onto the blanket. If it hurts to much tell me." I say as dad barly nods. "I.... I'll be ok princess." Dad grunts. I sigh before gently rolling dad onto the blanket the man helps me. Dad groans in agony. I see more blood coming out of dad's wing. My eyes widen in horror. I look at his wing to see a minor wound. I grip the blanket as does the man. We slowly drag dad I to the cave as dad goes limp. We stop as I run to my father. I gently stroke dad's head as the man comes over. "I'm sorry." He whispers. "Why did you attack him?" I ask with tears. The man sighs. "I..... I wanted to prove dragons were real." The man says. "You were going to kill him." I say closing my eyes. "Yes. But not anymore. I'll help you heal him." The man says. I look at him. "I'll be back with some supplies" the man says. "Promise you won't reveal him?" I ask. The man nods. "I couldn't do it. I couldn't take him away from you." The man mutters walking out.

"Daddy?" I ask as dad slowly opens his eyes. Dad slowly struggles to sit up. "Take it easy daddy." I say as dad groans. "Lilly are you ok?" Dad worries. I smile slight. "I'm ok daddy." I say as dad nods. "Wh..... What happened to the man?" Dad asks. "He left after healing you." I say as dad nods. "I was so worried daddy. How do you feel?" I ask. Dad chuckles softly. "I'm ok Lilly. Just sore." Dad says lowering his head so he was right in front of me. I gently rub his head as dad smiles. Dad slowly curls up into a ball and opens his wing so I could snuggle up next to him. I happily do so. I gently hug dad as he chuckles. "I'm ok princess." Dad whispers as I nod. I lay my head on dad's side and close my eyes.
