Chapter 1

I took a deep breath as I stood in front of my library "Get it together Eun-Mi, it's mandatory to do volunteer work if you want to graduate!!!"  I told myself as I shook my head. I knew this day had to come sooner or later, but I just thought it'd be the latter. I loved reading ever since I was a kid, so of course when it was time to choose what volunteer work to have, I chose to volunteer at my local library. There was just one problem... I'm extremely shy, and although not many people come to this library (that I know of), I don't want to have to interact with total strangers.

"Suck it up Eun-Mi!!!"  I heard the little voice in my head tell me. Okay. This is it. I took a step closer to the library doors, wrapping my fingers around the handle.

"I am just so happy to finally have a pretty young lady like you working here!" Ms.Kim told me with a huge smile on her face. She had gone on about how not many young people come to this library, nor do they want to work here. Gee, I wonder why? People my age were just focused on social media, and stupid relationships. Of course none of the idiots I go to school with would ever even sniff near a library. I snapped out of my own thoughts and nodded at Ms.Kim "I... I'm happy to be here.." I said in a quiet tone, slightly smiling at her "Ahh!! You're a shy one I see!" My eyes widened at her comment, I could feel my cheeks burning up in embarrassment. "Don't worry sweetie, once you start working here, you'll meet a few new people and you'll slowly come out of your shell. It'll be okay." She assured me, and I just shook my head in response. "Alright, let me show you around and introduce you to some people" She smiled, yet again. Damn, does this woman ever stop smiling? ...Ah, don't be mean Eun-Mi!  I snapped out of my thoughts once more and  followed the trail behind her, she probably thought there was something wrong with me since I kept spacing out on her. 

"Welcome to Shin-Wa Library!!!" They all greeted me as we entered what seemed to be a break room. It scared me how they all greeted me at once... and in sync. "H-Hello" I greeted them, as I scanned the room. It was pretty dull.. A few lockers, a refrigerator, some chairs with a table to eat at, a microwave, and a small television. It was nice, I guess.

"They're nice, trust me, I'm glad you got meet everyone here today... Now, I think today was full of excitement for you! So we'll see each other tomorrow Eun-Mi. Okay? and it was a pleasure meeting you" She firmly shook my hand. "Thank you.. Se-See you tomorrow Ms.Kim" I shook her hand back, and smiled at her. As soon as she started to walk back inside, I hurried away.

I didn't live too far from Shin-Wa library so I decided to walk there instead of having my mom drop me off. I started roaming the sidewalk, thinking of what happened today, and the people I got to me- I jumped as I felt a vibration in my pocket... Oh, it's my phone duh! I fished it out of my pocket and checked the caller ID, as soon as I saw who was calling I answered the call. "JANG-MIII!!" I squealed.. Ahh, Jang-Mi, my one true friend. Both of our moms had been best friends since they were kids, so naturally we were meant to grow up inseparable. 

"How was the library?!?" She yelled in my ear

"Ah.. It was okay, I met a few people.. I met Bo-Yeon an older man who loves to read a little too much. Seulgi, he literally just sleeps and eats. My-Hyeon... she has a creepy obsession with romance novels... AND SHE'S OUR MOMS AGE!!!" I giggled over the phone "..and Seo-jin" I continued

"OOOooo!! Seo-jin sounds hot" Jang-Mi said as she cut me off. Oh does this girl ever NOT think about guys?!

"SHE! Is very hot, if you MUST know" I bursted out in laughter
