Red

All Red could see was only 5 feet ahead and behind himself. He used his fingertips of his hands to find the wall. His only sources of light was left eye which was glowing red, and Ashia's crystal, which was glowing faintly. He had to avoid random rocks and spikes. He summoned a red attack in his hands i case there was a random encounter or something. Other than that, it was very dark and quiet. Which, sadly, he doesn't like. He doesn't mind the quiet, but he doesn't necessarily like the dark. He remembered when he was younger, he'd have to sleep in the same room as Ashia or Geno, because his lights were broken, and it would be pitch black. As Red kept walking, he was flooded of memories of how scared he was of the dark. He gripped the crystal tighter. His breath quickened. He stopped, and he was physically shaking. He put his hand on the wall, to steady himself. He realized what was happening. 'I'm having another panic attack...' he thought to himself. He then fell to his knees. He breathing sped up even more. His head started to hurt.  Tears started to form in his eyes. He was unable to move for a moment. Fear washed over him. He was traumatized as voices argued in his mind.

'What if I don't make it out????'

'You're going to be fine.'

'I'll die here...'

'No you aren't. Get up and just keep walking.'

'But it's too dark.'

'Get up you big baby!'

'No!! I'm too s-scared!!'

'LOOK! YOU'RE GOING TO STAY HERE IF YOU KEEP SITTING THERE AND COMPLAIN HERE OVER JUST THE STUPID DARK!!! MAN UP AND WALK!!!!!'

"BOTH OF YOU, SHUT UP!!!" Red screamed out, echoing. The voices subsided. Tears stung in his eyes. He quickly rubbed them away. That one voice was right. He had to man up and keep going. He can't dwell on the darkness. But... something was holding him back. He sat against a wall to calm down. He looked at the crystal that was in his hand. He sighed and put it back in his pockets. "Tomorrow is another day...." he muttered to himself. He put his hoodie over his head. Before he knew it, he was asleep.

He wished he hadn't fallen asleep. His dream looked weird. It was a white room. Then he looked at himself. Holy Asgore. He was almost transparent, and floating. Like a ghost or something. "Am I dead..?" He asked himself. Then the world shifted around him. When it finally stopped spinning, he saw the most confusing thing. He saw his younger self. No older than eight. He looked different back then. Sort of. He still had the same jacket (which was still too big on him, but he wore it anyway.) and shorts, and shoes. He had a baby face, and a tiny mischievous smile. Instead of having his gold tooth, there was a gap. 'Probably just lost that tooth.' He thought to himself. He had a bandaid on the bottom of the right side on his chin. Then he realized. "I'm in a flashback!" He said out loud. The younger him didn't hear him. Apparently he couldn't see or hear him. So he just watched. Then he saw a tiny girl approach, in a very familiar yellow dress and small tiara, and long, beautiful black hair. It was Ashia, when she was younger. They both had a conversation.

"Ashia! There you are!" He had said.

"What did you need?" She had answered.

"I wanted to show you something!!"

"What is it?"

Then he stuck his hand into his left pocket, then his right, and brought out something a bright purple. Red knew exactly what it was.

"Is that a..."

He laughed. "Yep! It's the purple scarf you've always wanted!! I saved up my gold so I can buy it just for you!!" He gave her a toothy grin.

"F-for me!? How much gold did it cost you??"

"20 G."

"That's all your allowance!"

"Oh well! It was worth it though. I know you've always wanted it, so I decided to get it for you!"

"I.....thank you...."

"Hehe! No problem!" He said as he wrapped the scarf around her. She blushed as he did just that. It hid her neck and the bottom half of her mouth, but she still looked adorable, actually, even more adorable.

'It's surprising she still has the scarf..' he thought to himself. He continued to watch.

"Come on! I want to show you something cool!!" his younger self said, bouncing excitedly. He always wondered why he was so energetic and hyper as a kid.

"Where are we going?"

"Come on! I'll show you!"

He then took her by the hand and started to run. He smiled as he saw Ashia's face turn bright red. He remembered she wasn't used to boys holding her hand. The scene shifted. It stopped when they stopped at some vines. They spoke once more.

"Okay, ready?"

"What is it?"

"It's a surprise!!"

"You really like surprises."

"Yep!!"

They walked through, and he found himself looking at his favorite memory: The day of the promise. It was a small garden, with a golden flowerbed.

"It's beautiful." she had said.

"See? I knew you'd like it! But.. that's not the real reason why I brought you here."

"It isn't?"

"Nope."

He was just going to say more, then the dream started to fade. He was starting to wake up. "No, No! Not now!!" he shouted. The dream dissipated. He woke up with a start.

"AH! Oh... it was just... a dream..." he muttered. He got up and trudged on into the cave, with newfound determination. He was going to find Ashia. He can and will finish that dream.

And nothing's going to stop him.
