Rose couldn't fall asleep.
She knew why.
She had to get away.
She couldn't hurt anyone.
Why?
Let's go back a few hours.
12 hours earlier
"So, do you have any questions?" Dr.Williams looked a but nervous.
Neither him nor Collet knew what to expect, nor did they know how to answer.
"How did you save me?" Rose didn't dare look at them. She kept her focus on the ground and feet.
Dr.Williams sighed and pulled her head up with his thumb and his index finger. Fear was clear in her eyes, making his insides melt for her. He wanted her to feel safe, knowing what he did made him angry, knowing she won't be safe.
"We... as you know we're in a war, battle, conflict, you name it. We've been working on an experiment-"
"Woah! Wait, you used me for your experiment!?" Thousands of emotions flashed in her eyes, anger, sadness, fear, rage.
"My dear, please calm down-" nurse Collet started
"No! Why didn't you keep me dead! If I died I wasn't supposed to live on this world anyway! You shouldn't mess with life and death! God, I don't want to be here!" Red, Dr.Williams stood his ground as her eyes gleamed. Her now red eyes frightened the Nurse, backing her up into a corner.
Rose slammed her hand against a table making the ground shake. As quickly as it happened Rose stopped, her anger was replaced with fright and astonishment.
"W-w-what j-just hap-p-pened?" Dr.Williams sat her back down gently.
"Your destiny is to save the world" with that both the doctor and nurse left.
Save the world? The world was in battle with itself, what is she supposed to do? Crying silently she tried to remember her previous life, her mom, her dad. What were they doing now?
Wiping her last tears she called for Dr.Williams.
As he entered the room he saw her sitting on the bed. Her nose was pink, eyes puffy and her plump lips were redder. Never the less he still thought she was beautiful.
"I'm sorry" she said looking up at him through her long eyelashes.
He gave him a small smile and sat down next to her.
"Can you... can you continue? Please?" Her voice breaking mid-sentence. He nodded.
"Our experiment contained lots of things, it made you have better hearing, sight, smell, touch. You got stronger physically and mentally. You're supposed to stop the world from eternal chaos." He explained
"How?" Her voice was harsh but through it you could see her pain and fear.
"I don't know. It's the prophecy. A young, beautiful, girl who died would be brought back to life to stop a man of hate." Prophecy? She was the prophecy?
"Some believe the man of hate is the God of the Underworld." He chuckled and looked in her chocolate brown eyes.
She stared back at him enchanted by his green ones. Sighing she broke the stare and looked at the ground.
"Get some sleep. We'll talk more tomorrow" he squeezed her hand trying to comfort her and then left.
Rose checked the clock and noticed is was already 10 at night and got under her covers. Tossing and turning she couldn't fall asleep. Hours passed, her mind clouded about what he said to her. She knew she was a danger to people around her, she didn't want to hurt anyone.
Coming to a conclusion she couldn't stay here, she got up and opened her window. The chilly breeze formed goosebumps on her skin, looking down it wasn't that far to the ground. After all she was on the ground floor, jumping she landed still getting used to walking again. Looking back one last time she ran.
The forest near by would surely hide her, at least for a little while. She ran and ran, making sure not to touch anything. When she got far enough she sat down. A small clearing with a stream running down the middle. Relaxing, the sound of the water soothed her that was until.
Snap
She turned her head to the noise only to be greeted by glowing yellow eyes. Multiple of them behind it. Heart beat increasing she didn't make any sudden movements.
It jumped, landing on her back, pain shot through her lower back as she tried holding back the wolf. Something snapped inside of her and before she knew it, Rose was holding the wolf by it's neck holding it up from the ground.
All she saw was red, the wolf whined, growled and howled in pain. Dropping it to the floor it ran away into the forest.
One by one the wolves retreated not returning again that night.
Snapping out of her trance she was horrified. Curling up into a ball she cried. She knew running away was the best for everyone, but was it the best for herself? Rose felt alone, wishing she had stayed dead. If it truly was her destiny to save the world, how?
"AHHHH!" Screaming she punch a tree.
No blood
No broken bones
Just a tree that snapped in half.
'I'm a monster' she thought to herself.
Shedding her final tears she fell into a dreamless sleep.
(Back at the hospital)
Alarms started to go off, Nurse Collet ran into Rose's room only to find it empty. Quickly running to Dr.Williams she informed him.
"She- Rose- Ran" she panted
Catching on he ran to the room to see the window open.
"Dammit!!!" She yelled and called the police.
Collet was trying to calm Dr.Williams down, not helping, he got angrier.
It was her destiny and she's running from it. She was created to save the world.
"Maybe we took the wrong girl" he finally said after a long pause of silence.
"She's scared. Her world just flipped over" Collet answers
Dr.Williams shook his head and headed back to his office thinking about everything that had happened. He wanted to help her, but obviously the fates were on neither side.Hey! Ok, this is my first story on Wattpad so a few parts might seem boring and some things I might repeat over and over again. I'll try to stop doing that but if you like this story, thank you!
