~*Vani's P.O.V.*~

It took two hours to get out of Carrollton. The sign to leave said, "Welcome to Plano! The town of liveliness!"

It wasn't anymore. It was a ghost town. We probably came across only ten bloods before Julian's brother started having Asthma attacks.

"Mom, I dont feel so well..." He wheezed. His breath winded with ringing.

Crap

I crossed my arms and threw my head back. The sky was bright blue, contrasting the situation. I walked away as they gave him his inhaler. I went into the nearby woods and sat down. I looked if anyone was around and cried. All the emotions where coming to me. I tore at the grass and threw broken tree branches all around. The past comments where coming to me. The things people had said.

Asshole!

I punched the tree, my fist turning red.

You're acting worst than before!

I kicked the leaves as they floated around me.

GO TO HELL!!!

I threw my foot down, crushing something. I raised my foot, finding a baby rabbit lying in pain. My anger stopped, my heavy breathing stopped, I stopped. I picked up the rabbit and stared at it. It's leg was snapped, it's eye was forced shut on one side. I turned it over and found an open wound on it stomach. It stared at me with the only eye that was open and I thought of my mom.

"Yes it is, isn't it son?"

"Whatever, Sara."

The rabbit fidgeted as I started to cry. How could I have been so stupid. How could I have been so cold?

I closed my eyes as I felt the rabbit move. I looked into my palms where the rabbit was standing up, like nothing had happened.

"What the hell?" It hopped out of my hands and fell onto the leaves, skipping away.

"Vani?!!" My name was being called on. I ran out of the woods into the group.

"Hey. We're takin' names so we know each other better. We need yours." Julian said.

"Vani..." I Said, panting.

"I'm Rose!" Tammi's sister said. She rotated her waist in a cute, girl way. I glanced at Julian, who was counting on his fingers.

"Two people left." He said.

"I'm Nathan." Ashely's brother said. We switched our glance from Nathan to Elizabeth's sister. She looked around, nervousley.

"Say your name!" Elizabeth commanded.

"No! I don't like it!" She ran off into the woods. Elizabeth sprinted angrily after her.

Elizabeth caught her and grabbed her by by the shoulder.

"Hannah! You've played around enough!! This is a new world where you have to grow up!!! This isn't rainbows and ponies! this is a blood blood world where the motto is killed or be killed!! Do you want to end up like DAD?!!!" Elizabeth widened her eyes and shut her mouth with her hands. Hannah looked at her with confusion.

"What do you mean? Isn't daddy..." She looked at all of us, not seeing her father. She stumbled backwards and tripped over, getting her white shirt dirty. She started breathing fast and let out of quiet sob. Julian looked at her, bewildered. He mouthed something that I couldn't catch and she nodded.

"DADDY?!! WHERE'S DADDY?!! DADDY DON'T LEAVE ME, PLEASE!!! DADDY!!!" Tears ran down her face as she threw her arms up and down, stomping her feet.

"Hannah... No, no, no... No, it's okay, just stop. It's okay... Please don't cry." She hugged Hannah and patted her on the back. "We couldn't save him. It wasn't anybody's fault. It just happened. Don't cry, please don't cry." We all watched the saddened Hannah scream. It made me think. Her dad had died and mine survived, only to die hours later. This new world was jacked up, though we had adapted to it so quickly. It was because of the tv shows and movies. They tricked our minds into knowing what to do in these situations. Without them, all of us would be long gone.
