She dies because of drugs. I don't know if it was suicide or she got hooked on LSD and every other type of drug she had tried in the past. But let me just say that I did not expect her to die at the end. I thought she was happy and was loving life but don't let a smile fool you. Just because someone may "look" happy doesn't mean they are in the inside.
