Mr and Mrs Ravichander were equally surprised by their son's decision to get married to Anjali. "Hehe, Ani ye sollumbothu, naama vera enna ketkarthu? Anjali inimel namma aathu maatuponnu, illa illa she's our daughter from now on," smiled a delighted Mr Ravichander. "Awesome news, sammanthi!" voiced Mr Krishnamoorthy, triumphantly. Thus, the discussion of the engagement, wedding, after party and so on began and definitely did not cease till much later. Anirudh excused himself from the area filled with the whole lot of relatives, thundering with laughter and ear piercing voices. He walked to the front yard, unlocking his car. Starting the engine of the red beast, he turned on the radio tuning it to his favourite channel, GreyFM. Munbe Vaa by AR Rahman played, euphonious to his ears and heart.
Situational song haha, Anirudh laughed monologically. Then it hit him, it was indeed situational but not for the right reason. He sighed, recollecting the days back in college.

"I love you, Ani!" screamed Anita, skipping towards Anirudh who chuckled at her shenanigans. "How many times do I tell you to stop shouting my name out in public, Anita? It's the 50th time this week! Konjam kuda vekkamey illaya di?"he grinned at her. Everyone knew nothing(literally nothing) can cause Anirudh to lose his head. If music was not a passion, he would be better off as a sannyasi. "Hello, vekkam ellam patha kadhalikka mudiyathu da! I love you and you deserve to know, no? Unakku eppo than ketkapothu," she smirked. Anirudh shrugged with an apologetic expression filling his countenance. "Seri, seri. Coming for practice later?" she asked, defeated by his continuous rejection. Anirudh nodded, still smiling widely at her. "Great, I'll see you then!"she kissed him on his left cheek before he could turn away. "Thiruntha matiya di? Hahahah okay, thanks for the kiss," he said, walking off while waving at Anita. Anita was one of his fangirls, stalking him from the second he arrives at college till his Royal Enfield bike passed the gates of their college. Begging for his love was their daily routine( this list includes Bargavi, Darshini, Stella, Anjana, Chamundi, Ganga, Shahida, Ranjani and.... whatever, you get my point right?). They bugged him like lice but they were an imminent source of entertainment to his buddies who frequently teased him about it. "Yenda, naanum nalla azhagathaan iruken, yenna oruthi kuda pudichirukunu solla matraa? Yennada naadakuthu?" Sreyas would question Anirudh. "Avanna pathi theriyatha, engeyachum mutham kudutherpaan da. Kovamey padamataraam vera. Nambalala mudiyuma?" Iyappan would suggest, jokingly. "Exactly! I speak in English, play the guitar and drums but no girl is after me! You're just plain lucky, da Ani," Sreyas would croon in a melodramatic tone.
"Arambichutaan da, Peter-u! Deii, niruthu da. Ingga yentha ponnumey illaye da! Why da such a huge scene-u?" Aravind would join the lot, eventually making them all burst out with laughter. Anirudh would facepalm himself listening to his besties' silly comments and cries then, join in the fun. Today, similarly, as Anirudh approached their usual hangout spot, under the shady tree behind the college, Sreyas ran to him, asking,"deii, Anita proposed to you again, no? Did you accept?"he guffawed, watching Anirudh roll his eyes at roller coaster speed. "It's nothing, macha. I'm so done with them all da. Should I tell them off?" Anirudh sighed heavily, dropping his head showing slight distress. Sreyas gave Anirudh a hug, rubbing his back. "It will be alright dude, it will pass real soon. I know you can handle this like everything else. It doesn't have to be the hard way, cha," said he. Sreyas hardly saw Anirudh stressed about anything. He almost always managed to maintain his cool and endure situations single-handedly. If Anirudh could not deal with something, it would most probably be pretty serious or because he was being milked for his kindness. This time, it was a fusion of both reasons that drained Anirudh off his tranquility. He held Anirudh by the shoulders and added with a serene smile,"We're here for you dude, don't you fret about it". Seeing Anirudh's worked up face, Iyappan and Aravind walked up to them. "Deii, ithukellam feel pannuvangala? Enjoy the attention while you can da,"Aravind said, circling his arm around Anirudh's shoulders. "Yeah deii, but this is getting out of hand. We have to stop it asap. Pasanga na avalo cheap-a pocha?" expressed Iyappan. "We'll have to teach them a lesson, boys. A NO will always mean a NO, regardless of gender! Agreed?" cried Sreyas. The other three nodded in approval. "What can we do to put them in their place, guys? Think, think, think," added Aravind, pressing his index fingers on his temples. "Deii macha, saaptu yosikalama? I haven't had my breakfast yet ya," begged Iyappan, placing his hand on his belly. Anirudh laughed, replying," Let's go, boys. Food before fools". "Semma punch-u, macha. Rajini sir kitta solli adutha padathula poda sollu! Mama kochika mataaru thaaney?" snickered Aravind as the four of them paced in the direction of the cafeteria, sharing giggles, the most prized possession in their friendship.
Anirudh was troubled by girls surrounding him back in college. How did he and his friends handle that situation? What next? Are you enjoying the story? Do drop your comments and thoughts on this chapter! Love you guys!
