Ripping out the words we use
Trying to hold onto something,
anything.
Hope, a wish, a dream.
If we can think it we can want it.
But our words have been used up,
asking for things,
wanting things.
Some of us don't want
Some need
Whether it be love
Or compassion
Or whether it be something basic.
Something like food or a home.
Sometimes we need things that we can never have,
Things we know we can never, ever have.
A secret wish
A secret want
A secret need.
