Percy's POV:

I sat on my porch steps, watching as the men unpacked furniture from the big moving van. I was nervous that it would be a mean bully like the last neighbor was. Yes. I, Percy Jackson, 8-year-old swimmer, was scared. Don't mention it. Ever.

Anyway, I sat there, waiting for any sign of a non-muscle-y guy, and some normal kid. Then I saw her. She had princess blonde curls, and wasn't very happy. She smiled, waving in my direction. Then I realized that it was actually to me. I blushed stupidly and waved back, smiling sheepishly.

Idiot, I scolded myself.

She said some words to a man, I assumed was her father, and pointed at me. I blushed at the thought of her talking about me. He smiled, nodding. She smiled back and started running towards me, giggling. A lot.

"Hi, I’m Annabeth Chase. What’s your name?” she asked me, catching her breath. She sat down next to me, looking into my eyes with her analytical grey orbs. For some reason, that gave me a confidence boost.

“Hi, Percy Jackson, at your service,” I said, grinning. She smiled.

"I'm seven years old. And you?"

"I'm turning eight in August," I said, proud. She giggled. Again.

"Are you still in first grade?" I know that it was just a simple question, but school was a soft spot for me. I was only in first grade, and that was my third school.

"Yeah, I hate it though." My grin faltered.

"So am I! Maybe we're in the same class!" she exclaimed. My smile returned to its place.

"Maybe," I replied simply.

We heard her dad calling her back to help unpack, and she looked over. Her smile left her face. She turned back to me, saying a sad good-bye. We stood, her going home, me as well.

I saw her hesitate and turn back to me. I knew we would become best friends soon. She nodded, as if agreeing with someone--maybe me, or maybe herself. She then kept walking to her dad, who started talking to her almost immediately.

I smiled to myself and opened my front door, becoming overwhelmed by the scent of blue cookies. Yes, blue cookies. Don't ask.

A/N: There was chapter 2! And an exclusive one at that. This chapter is only on this site. Yay! Thanks for reading!
