The tapping of my blue Converse hitting the floor tile in my school hallway echoes around me. My dark brown hair flows behind me, along with my fluorescent skirt as I skidded around school corridors.Hey kids, don't be late for school.
I burst into my first period that had started a good five minutes ago.
Out of breath and panting, I glance around my class and everyone stares at me like I was dressed in a clown outfit.
"What? A girl can't be late?" I roll my eyes and sat in my seat at the back of the class. As I pass Michael, I completely ignore any look he sends my way.
The girl at the front of the class who appears to be new seems amused by me.
"Ms. Avedon, it would be great if you were on time tommorow and for the rest of the week. You interrupted me introducing Arianna to the class.' Ms. Campbell scolds.
I nodded my head and picked at my chipped black nail polish.
Ms. Campbell went on about how this new student is outstanding academically and whatnot.
I find myself not caring at all. I can't get my mind from thinking about Michael, and I have no clue why.
The only thing that snapped Me from my thought Is when Arianna sits next to me. Then she starts talking to me.
"Hi I'm Arianna Rodriguez," she introduces herself.
"Jade," I respond and went back to paying no attention at all in class.
I didn't intend to be bland to the new girl, but too much Is going on in my life (actually, it's only really Michael.)
I can't help but notice her piercing blue eyes. They stand out against her dark brown, almost black hair. It went below the middle of her back. She is most definitely pretty.
When the bell rings I scurry to the hallway to avoid confrontation from a certain someone.
"Hey could you tell me where Mr. Colt's class is?" She asks, eyeing Michael.
"Yeah, down the hall and to the left. Second door down. And don't bother with him." I answer.
"Don't bother with Mr. Colt?" She questions me.
It takes me a moment to understand what she's talking about. "Oh! No, I meant that boy right there." I laugh lightly
"Oh I'm so sorry, are you guys dating?" She asks looking apologetic
I laugh "No, he's Just not worth your time."I respond
She nodded and walks in the direction I gave her a few moments ago.
I figure that Michael would be staring her down and hitting on her but surprisingly his eyes are only on me.
I stroll down the hall after Michael disappears from my sight. I see the now familiar long brown hair and speed walk towards it. No one could miss Lia from a mile away. Her Tan skin and Dark brown hair with her hot pink outfit makes her stand out like a diamond in the rough.
"Hey G!" she greats me with a grin.
"What's up?" I ask, nudging her thin arms with my elbow.
"Nothing with me, but it looks like Michael found a new bimbo." She nods her head to the left and I follow where her eyes are looking.
I glance towards the lockers where she was glaring with disgust in her pale gray eyes. Her thick black eyeliner narrowed in anger.
"I hate both of them!" She snarls.
Michael stands in the corner smashing faces with a fake blonde who's Breast's hang half out of her too tight tank top. Half of her orange stomach pops out, and her shorts practically pass as underwear. I knew him looking at me earlier meant nothing, and I told myself that I didn't expect it to either.
I think the bimbo's name is Mckenna.
"Me too" I sighed, referring to Lia declaring her hatred. I get sick of watching the scene go down in the school corridors and pull my Brown-haired friend into the cafeteria.
I feel a little pang in my stomach as I turn away from him and his victim but I push it to the corner of my mind and ignore the feeling. I know I hate him. Nothing will change that...

I impatiently wait for the last bell to ring While I sit at my desk. When will this horrible, awful, terrible, no-good school day end?
I practically run out of Centennial High school when the bell rings.
Finally, I get to go home!
Or at least I thought so.
In the grass outside the entrance of the school is a huge crowd circling around some sort of scene. Somehow, the feeling in my stomach let's me know that this is not good.
Being the curious person I am, I try to push to the front of the group of students chanting and screaming. I push and shove and make my way to the little clearing only to see a fight.
This is no ordinary fight either, I happen to recognize the winning contestant.
"Michael?!' I scream out.
He brawls it out with some other guy, and this "other guy" seems to be losing pretty bad.
At the sound of his name being called, his head turns to my direction. "Jade?" is all he could make out before the other guy punched him in the face, knocking him out cold.
Oh no.
Michael's POV:
I wake up to bright white lights and a pounding head.
What happened?
I sit up and look around. Am I in the nurses office?
I see nothing else except someone in the chair, Jade.
"What are you doing here?" I ask confused
"Wow don't be so nice" she responds sarcastically, as usual. "You got knocked out in a fight."
"Oh yeah, no thanks to you." I roll my eyes, finally recalling the events from earlier.
"What does that mean?" she replies, obviously taking offense to my stupid words. She stands up and gives me a serious death glare.
I roll my eyes yet again. "You're the reason I lost!" I yell out the obvious.
"I helped you!" She pointed at the ground as she screams in my direction. I flinch and my head pounds harder. I know I'll have a mean purple bruise on my face tommorow. I might already have one right now.
"I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you, brilliant! Listen, I know you have a small crush on me but could you please control it? I don't need your help." I lay back down on the uncomfortable bed. The waxy paper itches at my neck, but I'm too lazy to reach up and scratch at it.
The only thing I hear after that is a sniffle and the door slamming.
I thought for a second that my stomach did a flip, but I convince myself that it was my imagination.
But I really need to know how I'll get home...
