This is the story of how I lived, and how I died. I lived, but I died slowly inside. I knew something wasn't right. When I was at the age of eleven, my parents were murdered right in front of me. For the rest of my years I ran from the killer. Whether it was being locked up for protection, or Witness Protection Program, I was always running. They never did find the killer.
He ended up dying when I was twenty-seven. He chased me for seventeen years, and I lived. It was a miracle, but not to me. My name is Sapphire Felskan. That's my fake name though. I would tell you my real name, but I guess that should still be kept out of the record in case my parents' killer had an accomplice.
So there I was, age twenty-seven, my name was Sapphire Felskan. Me and my husband were going on our honeymoon. It was strictly against my officer's rules but fuck him. I wanted to have a good time with my husband for once.
Don't worry, you might think my husband is the killer, he's not. He has been a friend of the family since I was around three. The FBI even checked his alibi and all of that. He was nothing compared to who the killer was.
I saw the killer when I was eleven. I'll never forget his face. He had blonde spiked hair and a blonde goatee. He had a nose piercing that was a silver color. He killed my parents right in front of me, how could I not remember. Anyway, it was the night before the honeymoon. We were heading out to Las Vegas. I was so excited.
It was around eight at night, we were all done packing. My husband Dale and I decided to lay down on the couch for a little bit before finally heading to bed. We watched a little tv as we cuddled close together. The phone began to ring. Our cuddling was interrupted as my husband jumped up to answer the phone.
"Hello? Anybody there?" He hung up the phone and began to walk back to the couch, it rang again. He looked at me strange.
I got that scared look on my face. He went and picked up the phone again.
"Hello? Who is this? Listen, don't call here again or I will call the cops!" He slammed the phone down and hung it up.
He came back and sat down on the couch and put his arm around me.
"It's okay, I won't let him get anywhere near you." He said to me while looking me in the eyes, he kissed my cheek and he continued to watch the tv.
About a week ago we started to get the anonymous phone calls. Ever since then, we've had 24 hour FBI surveillance. It seemed like they were always parked outside, it seemed like we never had any privacy. They were just doing their job. The phone rang for a third time, I started to tear up. I knew nothing was going to happen, the killer was too smart for that, he knew the FBI were stationed right outside.
This time my husband didn't answer the phone, instead, he opened the curtains and signaled the FBI agents to come inside. They got out and came inside.
"Everything ok Dale? Sapphire? Are you two okay? What happened?" He kept asking.
I looked at the phone and he looked too. There were two agents that stayed outside all the time. The first one's name was Bradley, he was the main agent. He was around fourty-eight. He had been helping me ever since my parents were first murdered.
He was the first one that took my case. I was like a daughter to him, he was like a father to me. The second agent was Agent Renders. He was more like an uncle to me. He had been here for half of the case. He was always Bradley's partner though. I looked at these FBI like they were my family. That was the best way to think about it.
"Sapphire, you're gonna be fine. We'll get the number changed, okay?" I nodded.
I knew that wasn't going to do anything. We had already changed it like five times before, he kept finding out the number. The FBI agents stayed inside for a while and the calls stopped. At around ten they walked back to the van.
My husband and I got into bed. We had to wake up early for the honeymoon. I was asleep first but I usually had nightmares. I jumped up in the middle of the night. I looked at the clock to see it was four in the morning. I was so tired, I went to lay back down. That's when I heard a loud noise from the kitchen.
I threw the covers off of me and walked out of the room. I entered the kitchen and saw a pan that held fell from the ceiling holder. I grabbed it and placed it back where it fell from. It was super cold, I had goosebumps. I felt wind from the left, I looked and saw that the back door was open. It was a sliding glass door but it wouldn't open unless you had the correct code, if it was broke, the alarm would go off and call the police.
I walked up to it. I looked at the code box, it was all broken into and torn apart, wires were everywhere and put together. Someone was in the house! I shut the sliding glass door. As bad as I wanted the killer killed. I felt like being arrested would be worse for him.
I turned the lights on and walked to the living room, the house phone was cut from the wire. He didn't want us calling the police. He must've not known that they were right outside. Dale! I ran into the bedroom. He was still sleeping.
"Dale! Wake up! Someone's in the house!" He climbed out of bed and grabbed a gun from under the bed. He always kept that there incase we needed it.
"Who the fuck is here!? Get out of my damn house! Stay away from my wife!" Dale yelled repeatedly.
I opened the curtains and waved the FBI in. CRASH! I heard the glass break from the kitchen, the alarm started to go crazy, it was louder than I thought it would be. Dale and I ran into the kitchen and saw the sliding glass door was broken.
Outside the glass door was the pan I had placed back onto the holder. That's what he used to break the glass. Bradley ran in and took out a key, he placed it into the code box and the alarm shut off.
"What happened?" He asked.
"He was here!" I said to Bradley and Renders.
