Alexis is your normal girl in this story, for now. She has decent grades, and has great friends. But after a long day at her high school, all she wants is her bed. Not for the sleep but for the world that lies beyond it once she sleeps. The world of dreams is where she belongs. She, like everyone else has a familiar that she received when she was five years old. Familiars can be anything from a human being to a mythical creature. Alexis was given Lucas as a familiar. He's a tall human boy, with black hair that always covered his eyes. She's never seen his eyes but always saw his bright smile each time she entered dream world.

Alexis ran into her bedroom and fell onto her bed, "At last, my bed. How I missed you." She smiled as she laid comfortably on her bed, readying herself to enter the dream world. "I'm coming Lucas." 3...2........1. Alexis fell asleep and saw the normal black space in her mind then began to see the many shades of blue and purple till she began to fall. Alexis opened her arms wide as she fell, and began to slowly glide down to the ground. The landscape of the world slowly began to build itself. Houses, towns, cities of sorts began to lay along the surface.

Alexis slowly landed on her feet as she finally landed on the ground. And surely enough, there he was. Lucas stood at the entrance of a cafe. As soon as he locked eyes on Alexis, he smiled and ran toward her. As he stopped in front of her, his hair fell back in place before she could see his eyes. "Welcome back Alexis. I missed you. And how was school?" said Lucas as he gave her a big hug. "I missed you too and it was school...same things as each other day." Alexis said. Lucas nodded and pointed toward the cafe, "Want to get something from the cafe?" Alexis nodded and started to walk to the cafe as Lucas gazed up to the empty sky.

Alexis sat at a empty table as Lucas stood at the counter getting them coffee. Alexis stared out the window where other people walked with their familiars. "One caramel frappe for you and one espresso for me." "Yay!", exclaimed Alexis as she grabbed the cup from Lucas. Lucas sat across from Alexis and sipped his espresso. After a few minutes of silence passed Alexis set her cup down. "I have a request." said Alexis. Lucas looked up at Alexis, "Okaaaay, what is it?" "Can i see what your eyes look like? It's been 11 years since we've been side by side and I've never seen your eyes once." Lucas looked down and blushes, "My eyes may not be pretty as your blue eyes." Alexis shrugged, "Oh well, I just want to see them just once." Lucas stood up and shook his head, declining. "I-I-I'm just not ready just yet." Lucas quickly walked away, leaving Alexis alone at the table.
