You had been the one hesitant about having a child with Elliot.
Having five children already, you were sure the man you loved, who was now middle aged, was finished having kids.
Did you want one with him? Absolutely. But you never wanted to pressure him to be a father and watch his youngest graduate when he was technically old enough to be his grandfather.
"What's one more?" Elliot smiled at your shocked face after you told him your hidden desire. "Eli's always wanted a younger sibling like his older ones."
"Are you sure? I hate to bring your age up but..." You weren't sure how to continue your thoughts while staying respectful of your husband. "And I'm a little worried about Kathy. I want to stay friends with her too."
"Yes, my age is a bit up there but let's see what happens after this one. As for Kathy, she's already given us her blessing. The kids too. But if you want to talk to her about it before we start a new life, do it. I want you going into this confident and happy," Elliot held your cheeks in his hands as he kissed your forehead longingly.
"Thank you," You replied sincerely, holding his wrists in your hands. "And I love you."
