Monday, August 21"Wake up butt-munch, we gotta go to school!" Jake was severely shaking me until I made a response. "Ok! I'm up!" I stomped on his foot hard before bolting for the bathroom first. "Hey let me in there!" He was pounding on the bathroom door. A girl needs to take her time getting ready. "Hey buddy, we're looking at me having an hour in here to myself, so go do something to waste some time." I spat, locking the door. I hum peacefully grabbing all my skincare and things to start my day. I ignore the constant pounding on the door and get ready.
I don't know what is up with the latest fashion but come on I mean you can only put on so much hairspray that eventually your hair is going to snap off. I'm not really into the big hair look so I just leave it be.I run downstairs to grab my book bag and an Eggo for to go. "Bye mom love you! Bye Jake leaving you behind!"
I walk out of the house with just a pair of mom jeans, a pink tank tucked into it, with a green army jacket over it, and checkered high top vans. Walking distance to school takes about 20 minutes, so I pull out my cassette player and headphones and tune out.
"Maybe I'm just like my mother, she's never satisfied...." I hum to Prince and I notice on the other side of the sidewalk a group of kids about my age are walking. They kinda look a little odd but isn't everyone?
I guess they are going to school. I get across the other side to follow them. I wait till I'm at least 10 feet away then start walking. I stare at them for a while and notice their appearance. They kinda all look like couples. There's three boys. One of them looks like your average fuck boy and then there's two that look like they came out of an MTV punk music video. One with real greasy dark hair, and the other with spiky, bright fiery-red hair. The 3 girls were all really pretty. They were all brunettes I think.
The next on my playlist was Joan Jett, and I had to start singing. "I don't give a damn about my reputation.. living in the past it's a new generation....." I looked up and all six of them were turned around staring at me. When they noticed me looking, they turned around and kept walking.
I finally get to the school, still feeling awkward from the previous incident. I turn around and see my idiot brother behind me. "Why didn't you... wait for me?" He said in between breaths. "You must've ran from all the way home!"
He realized what I've said and looked at me with wide eyes. "Maggie don't you dare!" I grin because he already knows what's coming. "I ran all the way home...." I sang loudly and kids heads started to turn ".... Just to say I'm sorry. Sorry!" He finished it for me.We go inside and head for the main office. "Um, hi we're Maggie and Jake Brown and we're new here..." the lady at the desk look like she did not want to be here as much as I did. "Yea, yea here's your schedules." She spat, handing them to us. "Where are you going?" I yell for him. I turn around for one second and Jake has already made friends. He can't hear me anymore because they already went up the stairs.
I was walking and looking down at my schedule when someone bumped into me hard. "Watch it asshole!" I spun around to see the same red headed kid I saw on my way to school. "Sorry babe!" He blew me a kiss and just left me in the halls alone.I finally found my way to my first period which is history. I walk in and every one turns to me. I noticed that red-head asshole again, and groaned "You must be the new girl." She kinda looked like she was way too old to teach, I mean like a bag of dust. "Yes I am!" I said looking at everyone. That kid was just smirking away. "Take a seat." I walked over to the only available, which was right next to him in the back.
I roll my eyes and take my seat. I looked over at him as he has a cigarette in his one hand and his feet up on the desk. He didn't even bring a pencil, book, nothing.
I open my book, and sense him looking at me, so I try to avoid it. "Hey." He whispered. Is this how I'm going to be spending my school year? "Hey!" He said louder. I'm so close to having a fit. I glance over at him looking annoyed, but then I stop. I notice how his eyes are like piercing blue and his features are actually appealing.
"I just can't seem to get away from you can I?" I spat while observing the rest of him other than his face. "Sorry, hun." He said holding his hands up in defense. "I'm just admiring your very stylish piece of clothing." He said in a British tone. I looked down and realize we're wearing almost the same jacket."Like I'll be wearing this again," I mutter and slide the jacket off my arms. I'm not wearing this after some goon like him does too. "Come on babe, don't be so stubborn." He said as he leaned over and gripped my thigh. My breath hitched and I swatted his hand away. "Don't touch me you pig!" I said it so loud the whole class turned their heads toward us.
"You two out!" She said, and lead us out into the halls. I scoff and go on the opposite side of the wall from him. "Because of you I got in trouble on my first day." I roll my eyes and pull out a stick of gum.
He starts walking towards me and I turn away. "Oh come on now us two are all alone, and you have me all to yourself." He said while lightly grabbing my shoulders. Wow this dude is more of an asshole than my ex. I shake him off, "Now that's a luxury few can afford!" He said smirking. This is going to be a long year.
