I find myself wringing my wrists nervously as we travel under the ocean. My eyes go back and forth from the prostrator to my new scar. When I look up again, I see Donovan also staring at the dark blue scar. "Are you to show Sophie that anytime soon?" he asks, gesturing towards my torso.
I shrug. "Hopefully not," I admit, shrugging slightly. "But I know that I'll eventually have to tell her."
"Do you think that she knows about nebmentia?" the male Sovereign then inquires.
"I actually didn't know what nebmentia was until Fitton told me what it was," I explain. "And by how Sophie can transfer information to me and I didn't know this, I'm guessing that she already knows what nebmentia is. Hopefully, I won't come in contact with it while she's around."
Donovan nods. Suddenly, he curses and facepalms himself. "Saridian is a mix of red and violet, right?" he asks abruptly.
Raising an eyebrow, I say, "The color, yes. Why..?"
Cursing some more, he says, "I left some of those crystals in a drawer of mine so Audrey could find it. Hopefully, she either didn't find it or she got away in time."
"Sophie also knows what saridian is," I point out. "So I think that Sophie would've pulled her away before she could drop to the floor from prolonged exposure."
"Great," he mumbles sarcastically. "I'm almost killed here, but once I get home, I'll actually be killed. Make sure to bury my gadgets with me," he requests, mockingly hold a hand to his chest as if he got shot. We both chuckle before leaning back in our seats.
I find my mind drifting off to Sophie and she must be handling all of this. Sure, she has her friends to help her get through, but I still feel a nagging feeling in the back of my head that I should've transmitted to her. Before I know it, I'm asking out loud, "Do you think that when Sophie was looking for me in my room, I should've come down to her?"
Donovan ponders about my question for a moment before shaking his head. "I'm pretty sure that Fitton would've used her against you," the male Sovereign says. "And I feel like Jacob and Fitton know each other." He suddenly frowns. "Does he know that you and Benen are the ones who saved Sophie and Laurel?"
"Who- Fitton?"
"Jacob," he corrects. "But yeah, Fitton as well."
"I don't think so," I muse. "And I actually shot tzanion at Jacob before we left." I then remember how he collapsed before we ran out of the warehouse. "Benen and I were able to get out before we were roped into the fight too much, so that's good."
Donovan nods. "Do you think that he's still unconscious?" the male Sovereign asks suddenly, making me look up at him again.
I shrug. "Maybe," I say uncertainly. "That may explain why it's suddenly so easy to escape."
At that moment, Steven decides to enter the room. "The submarine's on autopilot," he explains. "And on the topic of Fitton, he's not only unconscious, but he's not here anymore."
"Like he vanished like last time?" Donovan asks. "With a poof?"
Steven shrugs. "He didn't vanish," he says. "But I'm thinking that someone took him away to somewhere. Could be Jacob, could be someone else."
I raise an eyebrow. "How do you know?" I ask. "You were on that random floor, weren't you?"
The forensic pathologist shakes his head. "Before I went up to that floor, I went down to the floor that you two were on," he admits. "I didn't see the two of you in that room with the mot destruction, and I didn't see Fitton as well. You hit him with how many pieces, Fitz?"
