I've been walking around with this guy for a bit. I decide to ask him something, "so, what's your name?" He said it at the same time as me. I blush. I can't tell if he's as embarrassed as me, his shades cover most of his cheeks.

"Uh, you first." He says.

"It's Jo--" I look down at my dress. I had almost forgotten. I can't use my real name. I've gotta come up with something. "Uh, Jone, my name is Jone. " I say.

"My name's Dave. Nice to meet you Jone. "He says.

"Nice to meet you too." I speak quietly. I'm not gonna lie, he's pretty cute. If I'm  dressed as a girl does this technically count as still being straight?

I hide your face, walking by my friends. Dave is holding my hand and I definitely don't need them commenting.

"Aww has our little buddy found a date?" I hear a voice say behind me. I stop walking as Jade stands in front of me. "How adorable! You guys are the cutest couple." She says winking at me. I cover my face with my hands.

"Jone, do you know this girl? I can tell her to leave if she's making you uncomfortable. "Dave says.

"It's okay Dave, she's my older sister. And nothing you say or do, is going to convince her to leave." I say sighing.

"Don't judge me, I like being Joh-- Jone's third wheel." She laughs. I grab Dave's hand, speed walking away.

"Woah, slow down Jone. I can barely keep up with you." He says almost tripping.

"Oh, sorry Dave. Jade can just be really embarrassing. I didn't want her to ruin another date of mine. " I look down in embarrassment.

"Oh, just wait until my bro sees us. You aren't the only one with an embarrassing sibling. " he says chuckling. His voice is so smooth and deep. Deeper than my voice by a lot. I'm glad he hasn't questioned me too much.

"Ugh, speak of the devil, hide." He says. I look around, not seeing anyone coming close by. "What? Where??" I ask. He covers my mouth, "No time for questions."

I hide on the side of a little slushie shack.

*10 minutes before *

*"Hey dude. You want a slushie? "

"Yeah, that sounds great. Here I can pay." I reach for my wallet, remembering I'm in a dress, once again sighing. "Ugh, I forgot I was wearing this stupid thing. My sister has my wallet. "

"Wallet? " Dave questions.

"Uhh yeah. I left my wallet with Jade." I say looking down. Great, John, just great.

"Jone you're nothing like any girl I've ever met." He says.

He buys us both slushies, I'd gotten Tiger's Blood. He'd gotten Blue Raspberry.*

*end of flashback*

I sat down in the dried out grass, sipping on my drink as Dave walked back and forth.

He looked down at me, confused. "Why are you sitting in the dirt?" He asks.

I look at my surroundings, "what's wrong with sitting in the dirt?"

"Nothing. It's just most girls don't wear dresses and sit in the dirt. You really boggle my mind. Never met a girl like you." He says, crouching.

"Well I'm a b-- tomboy I guess. That might explain it." I say, blushing and laughing awkwardly. Taking a sip of the flavored ice to distract him.

"You're voice is deeper than any girl I've heard, is that common in your family?" He asks.

I take his hand, standing while blushing. I speak, "Hey, let's go ride some roller coasters. That sounds like fun." I laugh awkwardly once more.
