Marilyn's P.O.V.

I looked at my mom nervously. I bit my lip and tried to think up an excuse.

"Marilyn when someone asks you s question you must answer it," she stated. I glanced down at the rim of my dress.

"He umm... He had to answer a very important phone call," I slowly declared. It was the first thing that came out of my mouth. She took a
second and looked at me suspiciously.

"You sure about that, Marilyn?" she asked, walking towards me. Shit!

"Y-Yeah, I'm sure." I answered, backing away.

She nodded, walking back to the door. "Well, are you coming?"

I stare at her for a moment. I nod, walking towards her. "Uh where are you taking me?"

We turned a corner. "You have to meet Viktor's father, of course." She said and I could tell she had that evil grin of hers pasted on her face.

My eyes turn wide. "The king?"

She nods. I don't want to meet the king. He sounded so. Well scary. I started getting butterflies in my stomach. I never wanted to be in this situation but of course, I decided to be stupid and do it. Why am I such an idiot??

We walk out of the castle, into the well manicured courtyard. On a bench but the over dramatic fountain there is an overdressed man. He was closely shaved and had black hair with grey specks in it. He looked a lot like Viktor.

"Ahh King Vladimir," my mother said as the king rose from the bench to give my mother a hug. He said something in mad fast Russian that I couldn't understand and my mother nodded.

"And you must be Marilyn," he happily asked. I smiled at him and nodded my head.

"Yes your majesty," I assured him as I curtsied. He waved a hand at me.

"No darling none of that. We will be family. Call me Vlad," he said graciously. I smiled at him as he turned back to my mother. Once again mad fast Russian that I couldn't understand. This time she replied and walked away.

"Let's take a walk," he motioned me to our gardens. "Your mother tells me your quite the stubborn one," he stated as he examined the white roses.

"I guess I can be stubborn sometimes," I replied. He laughed and kept walking.

"What's your favorite flower," he questioned curiously. I look at him and smiled.

"Follow me," I ordered as I lead the way to the "secret gardens". My father built me a garden after I declared my favorite book was The Secret Garden.
The entrance was hidden behind s maze of bushes.

"This is where all of my favorite flowers are kept," I stated and told him the story of the garden. He smiled at me as he looked at the blue orchids.

"It is beautiful," he said as he took in the view. The king looked at his watched and gave a sigh. "I must be getting back. But this was fun. Thank you," he stated as he turned and went back through the bush maze.

I sat down on a bench in the center of the gardens. I looked around at the flowers when I noticed a figure standing behind the Peonies. I get up and walk to them, thinking of all the horror movies I've seen. Great this is how I die. I stand in front of the cluster of flowers. The figure walks around and enters the garden and to my surprise Viktor was standing in front of me.
