I went to all my classes, I had the same annoying teacher my sister Amy had which was Ms. Adams.
"Crystal" Ms. Adams said
"Yes?" I asked
"Are you coming to the after school study session?" She asked
"I can't, I got a jumping lesson" I said
"Your not doing yourself any favors. Are you Crystal?" She asked and walked away from me
I walked onto the bus and found a spot to sit, I got off at Heartland and went to the barn
"Amy" I yelled
"Yeah?" She asked
"Are you going to sell Bear?" I asked
"Well, not at the moment" she said
"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked opening Bear's stall and going inside to brush him and tack up
"It means, I'll think about it" she said
"I hope you don't sell him" I said
"I know how much you love him" she responded as we went out to the arena and I got on Bear
"So you won't sell?" I asked
"No, I won't" she said
I looked at her then cantered around the arena on Bear and went over the jumps and took him back to the barn and untacked him and put him in his stall and went back to the house and started on homework then did night check on the horses, I got up the next morning and it was 8:30am and I was an hour late for school. I got up and got dressed and ran downstairs. I got a ride from my grandpa to school
"Come home after school" Jack said
"I will grandpa, thanks for the ride" I said getting out of the truck
I walked into class late and its not new that Ms. Adams doesn't like me.
"Crystal" she said
"Yes?" I said
"Your late" she said
"I know and I'm sorry, I woke up late and missed the bus" I said
"Well, one more like that and you'll have detention with me" she said
"Yes ma'am" I said
I got on the bus after school and got off at Heartland and went to the house to do homework in my room. After I did my homework I went to the barn where I reorganized the tack, put hay in the stalls, put grain in the horse's grain buckets and made sure there was water in the troughs in the pastures and hay. I brushed the horse's and put Spartan's blanket on him and I put Jasmine in the pasture to let her get exercise and put Bear in the pasture as well. I looked around the barn office, I looked at pictures of me, my mom and Amy and had a flashback of when my mom got killed. I walked out and mucked out the stalls and went back to the house and sat in my room reading one of my moms journals she kept about troubled horses and I sat up and walked over to the window and looked out to the barn. I walked out to the barn and got Bear out of the pasture and tacked him up outside on the hitching post. I was about to go on a ride when my dad pulled up in his truck.
"Hey" he said getting out
"Hi" I said quietly
"What's wrong?" He asked
"Nothing" I said getting on Bear
"Something's bothering you" he said
"Fine, you pressuring me during my jumping lessons, I'm not perfect dad, why can't you just see that" I said and rode off onto the trails and I rode down to the river and crossed it
I rode back to the barn and saw an RCMP trailer there and I got off Bear and put him in his stall and closed the stall door and took off his tack and put it on the stall door and walked out of the stall
"Hi, I'm looking for Amy Fleming" the officer said
"She's not here" I lied
"You must be Crystal Fleming" he said
"You must be the one who's planning on buying my horse" I said
"Yeah, Officer Rodriguez" he said
"Bear isn't for sale" I said putting his tack on the rack and bridle hook
I brought Bear out of his stall and released him into the pasture
"Crystal, what are you doing" Amy asked seeing me do that
"You promised" I said
"I promised what?" She asked
"That you wouldn't sell Bear" I said
"That's right, I did promise that" she said to me
"Its getting late and I have school in the morning so good night" I said
I walked back to the house and I was so tired, I climbed into bed and got up early the next morning to do my morning chores and catch the bus on time. I went to all my classes once again and rode the bus to Maggie's. I walked into Maggie's and saw Tim and Lou. My dad wasn't the brightest person to see but he made it work
"Hey Crys" he said
"Hey dad" I replied
"I wanted to apologize for the other day" he said
"Shocker" I said walking around and looking at tack for Bear
"Dinner is on me" he said
"Okay" I said
I sat down at a table with him and sat across from him. I looked through the menu and ordered a cheeseburger and fries and my dad decided to get the same thing as me
"So dad, about the A circuit" I said
"What about it?" He asked
"I don't think I would be able to do it considering all the homework I have and the other horses" I said
"School comes first, I understand" he said "so are you going to do rodeo's with Bear then?"
"I'm not sure yet" I said
"I could see him as a barrel horse" he said "I really could"
"That's just your own imagination dad, he's not cut out to be a barrel horse" I said standing
"He could though" he said
"Like I said, that's your own imagination dad" I said starting to walk out
"Crys, wait up" he yelled "let me take you home"
"Okay" I said getting in his truck
I got home and got out of his truck and went to the barn, I walked over to Bear's stall and pet him
"What do you think about doing the rodeo boy" I said to him
He nuzzled me with his nose. I'm guessing he wants to do it, give him something to do so I called my dad
"Hello dad? Ya, I thought about it and I'll do the rodeo circuit with Bear, okay, see you this weekend" I said and hung up the phone and ran to the house and sat down at dinner
"So, Crystal, do you have stuff" Tim asked me at dinner
"Yeah, I do" I said
"Stuff for what?" Amy asked
"I'm doing the rodeo circuit with Bear, dads taking me" I said
"That's a huge commitment" Jack said "and you've got school"
"I can handle it" I said
"She's got the potential" Tim said
"I think its a great idea" Lou said
"Your leaving?" Georgie asked "how long will you be gone?"
"I'm not sure Georgie, its every weekend so I'll still be here during the week, I promise" I said and looked outside and it was dark out "I'm going to go do night check on the horses"
I walked out of the barn and did night check on the horses
