Chapter 7

Being in Love
With you.

Friday morning I woke up by a smell, a good smell. I walked out of the room and into the kitchen where Ezra was...cooking.

"Ez?" I draw his attention from the stove where he's making pancakes.

"Oh hey." He said casually.

"What are you doing?"

He looked at me as if it wasn't obvious,"Making breakfast?"

"I see that, but when did you learn how to cook?"

He chuckles and serves me a plate of pancakes and bacon,"I learnt a few months after you left, I wanted to learn how too cook and well Mary helped teach me."

I nodded as I sat on the stool where the counter is at and started to eat.

Few minutes in of eating in silence,"What do you have plan for today?" He asked drinking his orange juice.

"Well I have classes today, but after we could do something fun together,if you want."

"I'll drop you off." He says cleaning up the table.

After I got ready for the day Ezra drove me to the campus. On our way there we listen to some tunes.

"Pick me up around 1." I said giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"Same spot," he looked at me as I got out and was a few feet from my friends when I hear him yell,"Have a nice day honey!"

I turned and glared at him as he screeched out of the parking lot leaving smoke behind the car.

Show off.

"Who was that?" Taylor says as Freddy follows her up to me,"He was cute."

I sighed,"That's my little brother."

"Y-Your what!" Taylor's eyes widened.

I nodded my head,"He found me some how and now he's here." I said walking into the building.

"Is he here to take you away?!" Freddy asked freaking out,"What is he doing here?"

"Calm down ok, we haven't talked that much about what he's going to do." I said walking up the stairs.

"Kat! Hold up," Taylor said trying to keep up,"Can you just wait a minute." She said pulling my arm so I can stop in the middle of the stairs.

"What Tay?" I asked frustrated.

"What happens if you leave?" She asked worried in her eyes.

I bite my bottom lip nervously,"Then, I have to go home and face what I ran away from."

     In the middle of class, I got a text. A text from Payne. Just in time classes were over he calls. I answer as I pack my things away.

"Hello?"

"Hey princess." His soothing voice says through the phone.

"Stop calling me that." I said walking out of the classroom.

"But you're as beautiful as a princess, why not?" He said making me blush slightly.

"What do you want?" I asked walking out of the building, as I did my stomach got butterflies.

"I just want to see you." He said staring at me with a smile.

I hung up and walked over to him where he was leaning on a wall. I walked over trying not to smile.

"What are you doing here?" I said holding the straps of my shoulder bag.

"Just wanted to see how you were, and how the ring is, clearly it's fine in your hand." He said looking at my hand that has the ring in it.

"I-I uh, you said to keep it so I did." I stutter. Nice job Kat.

He smirked,"What are you doing right now?"

My heart started to beat faster,"I um-" I was cut off by a car honking and someone calling my name.

I turn and see it's my brother,"Who's that?" Payne asked staring at Ezra.

"That's my younger brother, Ezra."

He nods,"Well if you're not doing anything later then would you like to go to a party? Your brother can come too."

I looked at Ezra and back at him,"What's this party?"

"A friend of mines from town, I want you to go, with me." He gives me a small smile.

Ezra honks again,"I-I um-" he cuts me off.

"I'll pick you up at 9." He decided for me. I chuckled a bit but nodded,"Well go have fun, I'll see you soon."

I smirked and narrow my eyes,"You missed me didn't you? That's why you came to 'see me' you just can't admit it."

"Oh come on, I have better things to do than think of someone and miss them." He says scoffing, but deep down I know he's lying.

"Mhm sure, I'll see you later Payne." I said giving him a small smile.

"Bye Princess." He says as he sees me walk off to the car where Ezra is waiting.

Once I get in I was bombarded with questions,"Who was that? Does he know? Is he your friend? Ohhh! Is he the guy you were talking about last night?"

I rolled my eyes as he asked away,"That was Payne."

"Well, if I meet him I'll talk to him." He says staring at the road ahead of him.

"Well looks like that'll be tonight, because we're going to a party." I sighed.

    Me and Ezra decided to have dinner before we had to get ready for the party.

"Have you even been to a party before?" I asked as I put my straightener now on the counter and walked out the bathroom.

I saw my brother standing in front of a mirror wearing, preppy clothing.

"That would be a no, oh Ezra." I chuckled and went to help him.

"Well sorry, I was taught to always look your best."

I shook my head and told him to take off the sweater that he had over a buttoned up shirt and to change into some jeans. Once he did I unbutton one button on his shirt and untucked his shirt from his pants.

"Now mess up your hair a bit and you'll fit right in." I said as I went to choose an outfit for me,"Oh and roll up your sleeves."

I go through my clothes and can't choose between a purple velvet romper or a simple dress.

"Ez which one?" I hold both of them up.

He looks them over from the bed and goes with the romper. I change into it and I like it, I've never put this on before. I finished doing my make up and put on my black heeled boots.

"Damn, If Payne goes with another girl tonight the Ima just have someone go and kill him, figuratively speaking." Ezra says making me laugh.
