Chapter 1

Flashback ~Tom~

"Thomas dear, please be safe."

I looked up at my mother from the top of the steps. I fixed my hat that was leaning slightly on my head.

"Yes mother. I'll be back later."

"Stay away from the forest, dear. I know it's easier to take that way but please, try and take a different way this week."

I nod my head to her, but rolled my eyes as soon as I turned around. Why must she worry? I walked that way through the forest to work and back everyday. I suppose she's just spooked because of the recent killings that have been happening around there. But all the bodies were found deep in the forest. I wasn't going that far.

It's was fall. Night had swept over our town. As I made my way down the street I took my usual short cut into the forest. Ignoring my mothers request completely. Owls hooted and the moon light shined through the trees. I leaves crunching under my feet as I walked along.

The sound of a a twig snapping made me stop and look behind me. No one was there.

"Hi."

I turned my head around and saw a woman. She was beautiful. Her dark brown eyes, long curly waist length brown hair, her olive colored skin, and her pink lips that was formed into a sweet smile. She was wearing a dark red dress that seemed to drag behind her. The corset she had fit her body very nicely. She stood a few feet away from me. I couldn't keep my eyes off of her. It was liked I was in a daze.

"Hello." I said a smile spreading across my face.

"It's late for a man like yourself to be taking a stroll in the woods. You know, after all these attacks happening. Are you not afraid of the danger? Of being attacked."

"It's just the woods." I said with a shrug.

"And the attacks happen deep in the forest. I'm still close to civilization, so I'm safe." I added.

She raises an eyebrow and smirks.

"Safe,hm?" She asks

"You know I should ask the same too you. What is a lovely lady as yourself doing here out in the woods?" I asked.

"I live here." she said.

"You live here? In the woods?" I ask.

She starts to walk around me in a circle. Almost like I was prey and she was the predator.

"Is it hard to believe?" She asked.

"Yes. A beautiful woman-"

"Firstly lovely, now beautiful. We've been talking for a few minutes at most and your complementing me." she said.

"Well, what I've said is true."

"But you don't even know me. How could you know that I'm lovely?"

"You look like a lovely woman."

She stopped walking and stood back in front of me. I looked into her eyes and noticed they flashed into a bright orange for a second before. I blinked my eyes a few times.

"What's your name?" She asked.

"Thomas. Thomas William Hiddleston. Please, call me Tom."

She walked up close to me. She lifted up her hand and took off my hat. She placed it on top of her head.

"I like you, Tom."

She stepped back a few spaces from me before turning around.

"I think I'll keep this." She said touching my hat on her head.

She started to walk away, towards the deeper part of the forest.

"You shouldn't go that way, you could get hurt!" I said.

"I'm a strong lady Tom. I can handle myself." she said.

"Wait!" I yelled.

She paused, turning her body around. Her eyes held curiosity.

"You never told me your name." I said.

"Reyna. Reyna Clare."
