Talking Pups?!

This is actually a theory suggested by megaman359. The original theory was something along the lines of 'what if wearing the puptags gave the pups the ability to talk and they couldn't without it?'

This is an interesting theory. Although megaman359 debunked the theory himself (Everest could talk before she received a pup-tag), I would like to see if I can use that information to prove that it may still be possible.

In the episode where Everest joins, Jake finds himself somewhere in the arctic, cold. He may of have caught hypothermia from the exposure to the cold air.

Once Everest brought Jake into her hole, the sense of warmth may have put Jake into an illusion that he was at home. A fact- when people are in critical condition of heat or frost, they tend to see what pleases them. An example of this case is often shown in cartoons, while people walk in the desert, they tend to see an imaginary oasis, an optical illusion created by their brain to please their mind. Using this same principle, Jake may have imagined that Everest was a talking pup because he wanted to see her talk. But this can also be proven wrong when Ryder and the pups go to Jake's lodge, before handing Everest her puptag.

Another slightly more farfetched possibility could be that this was all Jake's dream, that he fell into a coma and Everest brought him back to Adventure Bay somehow. But that's probably not what happened.

Another possibility is that the entire series is just Ryder's dream. He really likes dogs, so he started a family full of talking dogs, since he can in his dream. In the show, Ryder is ten years old. And he drives an ATV with no problem. Ten-year-olds tend to have unrealistic dreams at times, mostly about their passions. And in no case DOGS are able to drive cars. So everything being a dream isn't an impossability.

Anyway, those are just a few possibilities! But we never will know the reason for sure why they can talk, but maybe someday we will.
