Ah, what a royal pain. Going around and causing problems in Barkingburg.
All horrible jokes aside, here's Sweetie!
Facts
- Sweetie's breed is West Highland Terrier.
- She is the second animal (seventh if one counts the as separate antagonists) to be an antagonist in the series, the first being the Kitten Catastrophe Crew, and the first example of a pup antagonist.
- She is the third female pup overall.
- Her originally planned voice actress, , is also the voice of Luna Girl on Disney Junior's PJ Masks. However, she was replaced with before the episode was released.
- It is unknown as to who gave Sweetie her uniform and vest, and it also unknown as to why she has this kind of equipment (hmm...). It is also unknown as to who gave Sweetie her car. (HMMMMMM...)
Mission PAW: Quest for the Crown
I'll be honest. When I first saw the ad, I didn't have high expectations for the episode. But this time, the producers proved me wrong. The episode really kept me engaged and was fairly entertaining. It was a good first impression of Sweetie. A good addition, without distorting the core of the show. Great debut.Mission PAW: Royally Spooked!
First off, I'd like to say that they made a really good job to make this in a short episode, without making it seem like it was rushed or forced into a short time margin. I also enjoyed how this episode [sorta] featured Rubble and his fear of ghosts, but I would love to see more interactions between Sweetie and certain pups in particular (e.i. Sweetie and Chase).Mission PAW: Pups Save the Royal Throne
This episode was the worst one out of the three in season 4. I think it's mostly because the idea of it was stupid, because sitting on a chair doesn't automatically grant you unconditional invincibility or something, unless you're REALLY stupid, which might be the case with Sweetie. I guess I should say something positive about this episode, too. I guess I liked how she took control of the Air Patroller for a brief moment, but then again, all possibility of some kind of one-on-one action was removed when Rocky got control of Busby. Nonetheless, it wasn't a bad solution. The other thing I hated about this episode is that they brought in a lot of characters, but could only focus on them so much. I felt like Everest and Tracker were barely part of the episode, even though they were overhyped in the episode teaser cover. Once again, I would enjoy if they had a larger role in the episode, possibly trying to take care of Sweetie in person instead of controlling her.
Future Episodes
Overall, I think Sweetie is a really well-developed character, and has a lot of potential. And since I'm not a huge fan of the new vehicles, I would really enjoy if Sweetie decides to take control of the lookout. An episode like this would really force the pups to get creative instead of constantly relying on their vehicles to get around.I don't think this character needs any backstory which shows her 'tragic' past or anything like that, because it's clear that she doesn't really have any harmful intentions. She just wants to be a highly respected figure in society. Her personality might directly reflect the one's of a teenager, as she has a desire to be accepted, much like a teenager's. And they way the Paw Patrol constantly shuts down her plans is a direct comparison to society not accepting a difference in a person's choices. CAN'T YOU SEE?! Spinmaster is clearly trying to send a message to the world, through a kids television series watched by an older audience, so they would be the only ones to understand the secret message, saying that society is slowing destroying young children's minds—
I'm rambling again, aren't I?
