So, apparently people think if you give them a slit-smile like Jeff that means it's a creepypasta. No. Just no. That means it's copying another person's character.
Creepypastas are supposed to be scary, we all know this. So you need to be able to make them look the part without copying somebody else or making it unrealistic. DO NOT COPY ANOTHER PASTA'S LOOK. I cannot say this more seriously. Don't do it.
Think about the characters and Ocs you have seen and try come up with something new. I have an Oc who is albino, I haven't seen any other character like that. (feel free to correct me if there is a pasta like that lol) Maybe you could make an Oc with a disorder or something that makes their appearance different. Do research on it though.
Things you shouldn't do:
-Jeff's smile, STOP!!! I could rant about this forever.
-No eyes, seriously.
-unrealisticly coloured eyes without sensible reason
-crazy coloured hair that is natural without reason
-crying blood, though there is a person who can do this you need to research first!
-Wings for no reason, just.......why?
-ANYTHING COPYING ANOTHER CANON PASTA!
Things you can do:
-dyed hair
-Natural eyes or coloured contacts WITH A REASON
-Try to come up with a unique addition to their appearance that you haven't seen yet!
Here are some ideas to inspire you (hopefully lol):
-Skin condition of some sort but research, research, research!
-face paint, make your own design!
-Masks but be careful, as these are becoming rather overused
-bandages but give a reason as to why they are there
-grotesque wounds, this hammers in the scariness or creepiness
Be creative and think outside the box! Feel free to leave your own tips in the comments.

How to make a good creepypasta oc
No FicciónI've made alot of creepypasta OCs in my time. I thought I could help the other aspiring character designers out there. Just saying, I am in no way an expert on making OCs so I don't know how good this information will be but we will see.
