Nyla's POV
In the last few weeks quite a few things had changed. April, Jonathan and I had started revising together, with the occasional exception of Aaron "borrowing" her. Instead of resisting Jonathan's friendship I had decided to just let our friendship flourish and see where it goes. It felt good to finally have more friends.
"Alright, see you guys later". Said Jonathan as he walked out of my bedroom. We hadn't been revising much today but at least April and I were able to get our Psychology homework out of the way.
Once we heard the front door shut, April ran to my door and locked it. Confused I just watched her to see what she was doing.
"So Nyla." She said while getting comfortable in my bed. I looked at her signalling to continue.
"How do you find Jonathan?"
I knew she was going to question me eventually, but I wasn't prepared with an answer, I didn't know whether to be honest with her or to just give a simple answer to shut her up.
"Honestly Ri, I really like him." I said quite shyly.
"I knew that you would eventually like him, he looks just like your type." She said excitedly.
I was quite surprised that she thought that I had "like, like" him. I meant it in a friendly way the same way that I liked her and Jonathan.
"Ri, I didn't mean it like that. I meant as a friend. And how would you even know what my 'type' is, I've never been with anyone before."
"It's so obvious what your type is Ny."
She had replied so confidently that I had to seriously think about what my type was. Did I like really buff and masculine guys? Or what about mummy's boys that have a really soft side. I had no clue as I had never had the experience, but something tells me that April was right about this. I mean we were best friends and we were practically raised as sisters so of course she would know me.
As I went silent April had decided to continue.
"Ri you like the bad boy type, but you love the soft side to them as well. Someone who will make you laugh and isn't afraid to show you off."
I was shocked by her detailed analysis, but I also wanted to know more.
"How would you know this Ri, it just doesn't make sense."
"Well sis it's simple. I just described Levi and I know that you love him and well Jonathan is practically the same as Levi with his own added features."
At this point I was completely lost for words, how long had she been creating this crazy theory. I didn't know how to reply, maybe I did like Jonathan but how would I know, i've never liked anyone before.
Sure I have had crushes on celebrities and thought that some boys in my year were good looking, but I have never felt that type of emotion towards a guy.
"Ri, I just like them as friends, okay." I took the easy way out, this wasn't something that I wanted to think about.
April had eventually left and I had prepared for the gym. I was meeting Jonathan there and I was finally going to start lifting weights. We had been talking about it a few nights ago, as Sammy had informed me that I had built enough strength to start lifting weights and as Sammy wasn't in tonight Jonathan was going to help me.
It was coming up to Eight O'Clock when I was ready to leave, all I needed to do was call an Uber. While I was waiting downstairs I had noticed that the house was dead silent indicating that I was the only one home. I had been in my room all afternoon so I guess that I didn't notice. So I quickly sent a message to my family whatsapp group and headed out.
