S P R I N G B R E A K.

evelynn stared at tom, while tom froze out of fear of doing something wrong. her thoughts raced in her mind as she remembered last years spring break.

Spring Break

evelynn walked around the campus, as she refused to leave. there was no reason to leave in her eyes. she had no one to see, nothing to do. she didn't even want to leave her dorm-room, but she had to because her roommate was having her boyfriend over.

she walked among the multi color brick pathway, looking down watching her black high tops go up and down slowly to the beat of the music in her ear buds. evelynn blocked out the real world with Fall Out Boy, her favorite band.

the ground around her was sucking up the water from the weekly grass sprinklers, turning the moist brown dirt to wet darker brown mud. the water mixed with the flowers gave the air a nice clean spring scent as the sun casting through the trees made a beautiful pattern on the ground.

"there's your first target." Brian, the leader of the friend group, nudged toms side.

tom looked up at the girl peacefully walking along the path with earbuds in. her head was tilted down, and she was draped in black, already expressing that she was not in a good mood.

one of the other friends noticed toms nervous expression. "come on, she's easy. REALLY easy. she's like, a punching bag. you can do anything to her and she won't do anything back."

tom was new to the school. he didn't have any friends. he was always scared to make friends, but he never knew it would be this hard. if he wanted some friends, he would have to do this.

tom swallowed his hesitation and fear, and started walking up to the girl with earbuds. his heart pounded, not knowing how to humiliate her to impress his friends. it didn't seem as bad as it sounded to him at that moment.

he took a deep breath before stepping infront of the girl.

she moved to the left to get around him, but he also moved to the left stepping right infront of her again. she then moved to the right to get around him, but he also moved to the right. this happened about three times before the girl yanked out her earbuds and said something.

"umn, I don't know you. what do you want?" she said in a serious, threatening tone.

toms heart started to beat faster and started to panic. without thinking, he grabbed the girl by her shoulder, and threw her into the area the sprinkler was hitting.

she smacked down into the mud face first, only sitting up to be sprayed by one of the sprinklers. his friends were laughing and recording in the distance, causing her to shoot a look at tom.

"congradulations new kid. you're officially an asshole." she said, tears forming in her eyes. she looked over at the blonde with green eyes, Brian, and stood up out of the mud and stomped away.

"yes! tom!! you've got what it takes my man!" were the last words she heard from them that day.

evelynn hadn't seen him since then, until now.

"tom" she mumbled under her breath.

"hi, im evelynn. nice to meet you."
