Chapter One:

"God, what now?" Hayli reaches over to the passanger seat and grabs the ringing phone. She glances down quickly and sees the flashing name "Michael" across the screen. She groans and throw the phone back into the seat. Adjusting her sunglasses she focuses on the road before her heading toward her home state of Mississippi. 23 missed calls from Michael and he still didn't get the hint. After 10 years of being in a horrible and painful relationship with him, suddenly he wants her back. She shook her head, trying to erase her disturbing past. She turns the radio up and drowns herself in the music. She smiles slightly when she see the sign saying "Welcome to Mississippi".

Shes home.

She remembers the day she left. Her mother was begging her to stay where she was but her heart pulled her toward Michael who was switching job. He asked her if she wanted to come with him to North Carolina to start their lifes together and after much crying and much praying she agreed to come. But her mother was right about him, and if she knew the horror stories of what she went through then her mother would never let her date another man again.

As the familier buildings start to pass Haylie starts to have flashbacks form in her mind. Her first job at Mcdonalds, riding down the beach on her bike with her friends. She passes her high school and her face drops. Anger fills her completely and she turned her eyes back to the road heading toward her moms street. High school was the worse four years of her life. She was alot heavier back in those days and everyone made sure that she knew about it. Girls and boys both bullied and teased her constinally. She remembered many nights coming home from school crying to her mom about her day. Then she remembered one boy, one that was worse then anyone she had dealt with in the entire school.

Jon Taylor.

Thinking about him makes her want to punch a wall. Devish good looks allowed him to get any girl he wanted and all the teachers loved him. But he made sure to make Haylis life a living hell. Once he snuck into the girls locker room while she was dressing for gym and he started to take pictures of her getting undressed and printed them out and put the pictures all over the school. Another time he paid a friend of his, Dereck to ask Hayli out for prom and then when she arrived in her $100 dress,  Dereck was with another girl dancing. Hayli hated Jon with every fiber of her being. Her only hope is that he maybe moved away.

Since high school, Haylis changed. She lost alot of weight, giving her a hour glass figure. She let her hair grow out where before it was above her shoulder and now its a long wavy flow of brown hair that ends at the middle of her back. She was a lot more mature and now has a different view of life. Being away from Michael now for a day, she reliezed how much her life meant to her, and she was never going to give it up for another boy again. She now was a independent, strong women and no man is going to stomp her into the dirt and make her feel like scum like Michael made sure of doing.

She smiled brightly as she pulled up into her mothers driveway, looking up at the old victorian looking house. It wa two story and Haylis room window has the french windows with the flower basket which looks great in the spring with the cream color of the house. The trees topping it all which surrond the house, one tree having a swing hanging down that her father put up when she was a little girl. Hayli felt at home again and she couldn't be happier. She jumped out of her lime green punch bug and bolted up the steps. She rang the door bell, straighting her long sleeve shirt to cover her arms and put on a bright smile as her mom, Kathy opened the door.

Her mother looked just like Hayli, brown hair, blue eyes, pale skin color, just an older verison of her daughter. Kathy's eyes widen when she see's her only child standing at the door. She covers her mouth as tears start to slide down her cheek reaching her hands out grabbing her into a hug. Hayli starts to cry as well, letting all the emotion for the last ten years pour out of her. Since she's moved away she hasn't seen her mother at all, just talked on the phone with her. Hayli cried harder holding onto her mother like she was 8 again. She was happy  to be home.
